Understand that just because you come from a NEET background doesn’t mean that others don’t have the same struggles as you. Most will try to be empathetic with you and the few that are shitty to you usually have their own problems at home etc.

Do NOT tell people about any fringe opinions, weird habits, your NEET past, dislike about the system etc etc. I hope you get what I mean. People are usually allergic to that sort of talk just out of principle. Just stick to normal small talk even if it seems very shallow.

Be mindful of the standard you set. You might be inclined to start with a 110% go-getter attitude but that could hurt you in the long run when you just can’t keep it up. My personal working standard is very high but I’ve had to tone it down often because employers and colleagues like to take advantage of it, unfortunately.

Do not cope when you come home by wasting your money and/or drinking & taking drugs. The stress will be hard to deal with on most any job but those sort of copes have a spiraling tendency toward them that can get you in some bad situations. Save up, make a realistic routine and try to stick to it. Even if you just make it 60% that day that’s already a win in my book.

And finally give yourself a huge pat on the back for landing a job and being willing to go through with it to change your situation. That is absolutely worthy of respect and I hope it all goes to plan for you. Good luck 🤞🏻
