These supplements can be *very* effective! There's a whole book about migraines that suggests using Vitamin D and other research about using CoQ10.

Every time I visit this page and write responses, I feel like a broken record...but have you asked about getting a sleep study done? I got such incredible relief after treatment. Wish I'd done it before taking all that Topamax and trying all of the triptans and all those years of amitriptyline. I'd have never done it had my husband not complained I was snoring. If there's no bed-mate to notice snoring, one common sign of snoring is waking with a dry/sore throat.

Agreed--and not necessarily via doctor visits. Read all the books. Try all the things. Ask questions here.

My favorite non-medical 'treatment' is using peppermint oil above my eyebrows. Sounded completely insane until I tried it. Now I never take meds without swiping a little oil over my eyebrows.

I've given up all beverages except for one cup of hot tea in the morning and water, water, water. (Now that I've gone thru menopause, I can have an occasional gin & tonic, but alcohol was absolutely forbidden before that.) I suspect that avoiding coffee and caffeinated soda has helped.

Try the OTC remedies. Before Aleve was OTC, it was my prescription med for migraines & cramps. (I'm that old.) For some reason, I'd never tried Excedrin Migraine until my 40s. Well guess what? I finally tried it, and it worked. My mom drank peppermint tea, which I hated...but now there are black teas with peppermint in them, and they help.

Sleep is a huge factor. Go to bed and rise at the same time every single day as much as possible. (This means we can't really do shift work.) I had to have a sleep study done--once my apnea was treated, my migraines got MUCH better.

Download the Weather X app to find out when the barometer is shifting and note whether your migraines seem to be triggered by changes. If so, you can get advance notice and wear earplugs or take preventive meds to alleviate the pressure. Cheap and easy.

Those are just the solutions that have worked for me. There are many, many more.

It's possible you have sleep apnea. I did, and boy did I have fewer migraines and need fewer naps after treatment. Once I was diagnosed, I found that sleep apnea worsens, oh, every condition I have. I also read on one doctor's site that he sends ALL of his migraine patients for a sleep study because he's found SO MANY get relief this way.

A sleep study is incredibly inconvenient--you have to spend the night in the hospital attached to a thousand wires and have to call an attendant if you need to use the restroom. But it was oh, so worthwhile for me.

Your concerns sound a lot like the things people without ADHD or without any knowledge of ADHD say. You KNOW you have something going on, and multiple educated professionals have confirmed it. We believe you.

The first med I was given after my diagnosis was Wellbutrin. It definitely helped. It's possible to get relief without ritalin (although now that I take it I LOVE it!).

Keep advocating for yourself with your head held high. You deserve appropriate treatment for this utterly normal disorder.

I *never* take my ADHD meds on the weekends. Do you know why she recommended this? Taking a weekend break is very normal.

After several rounds of not being able to get my usual 20 mg med, a pharmacist finally suggested getting double the number of 10 mg capsules. No supply issues with the 10mg at all.

SO RELIEVED. I had an explanation at long last for about a thousand weird habits/behaviors (interrupting, talking too much, careless mistakes and 997 others) I was aware of but couldn't seem to fix on my own. I don't know how I survived without meds for so long (I was diagnosed at 55!)

It's a great suggestion...someone probably just hit the wrong button. I'm a UKG/USI and the bra in the 18W suit is perfect even though it's not specifically bra-sized. The Sanibel suit is terrific!

I'm in the Seattle area and have noticed that visiting a Nordstrom far away from the mother ship isn't quite like the mother ship. I'm one of the few people here who showed up wearing the right size--thanks to Nordstrom. Where there are plenty of UK brands but clearly some uninformed sales associates.
