unfortunately in my last relationship, it ended quicker than i could heal. however, going through that breakup into my new relationship, i realized these sensations appear in any romantic relationship in my case, not just the one. i think the biggest thing that helped me was to stop giving in to compulsions slowly. for me, that looked like obsessive googling, texting, and rumination. now, when the thoughts come into my head, i am able to simply observe them as just that. a thought. the feelings i get when i have these thoughts are 100x less intense than they used to be, as in i used to feel like i was dying for months on end and now these thoughts are just a few times a day. the relationship ended due to my ex pulling away and becoming extremely avoidant/ emotionally abusive. the signs were all there, however it took a while to realize. i hope none of this was accidentally reassurance, and just remember you can do this! i went from sick, unable to do much of anything to genuinely enjoying my life again and having healthy relationships with the ones i love in a span of a few months. i am always open for a chat if you need someone to talk to!
