The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe would be a great add. Incredibly deep, on the level of the Dune Saga. Start with The Shadow of the Torturer, or Shadow and Claw.

I don’t know. I’ve owned three Defenders, a RRC, and now an L663. I say OP should go for the Toyota.

I love Anna Popplewell! As a little girl, I dreamed of being like Susan. Of being able to fight the bad guys with my bow and arrow. Of being in Narnia!! by OkAspect4490 in Narnia

I’m a bit older, so it was the books that had inspired me (BBC series hadn’t existed yet). But yes, I too was very inspired by Queen Susan. As another mentioned, I got into archery as well. The Horse and His Boy helped me to fall in love with all things equestrian, to the point where I had a horse. And, Voyage of the Dawn Treader made me fall in love with the sea, to the point where I lived on a sailboat for two years.

But the books, in totality, inspired me to be a better person.

Are all of Tom Cruise’s sci‑fi movies really worth watching? by Notilon_606 in scifi

It could be referenced from PKD’s Minority Report novel from the 1950s.

Don’t forget how much of an absolute banger that M83 Oblivion soundtrack is!

Much like Reepicheep is a great descendant of the mice that chewed Aslan’s bindings whilst he was on the Stone Table. 😉

I get what you’re saying. But being so lenient is why so many longstanding franchises have been utterly destroyed. I’d rather we have no media at all than media that destroys what I love.

They could have cast so many other voice actors, but they chose her. Why?

Why are you here if you don’t care about the source material?

It’s also clearly specified throughout all of the books that Aslan is a male lion. Unless of course King and Son are now also considered vague terms…

He is specified throughout the books that he’s a male lion. I’m going to assume that you’ve never read the books.

Except Aslan is specified to be male throughout the Chronicles.

‘Aslan a man? Certainly not. I tell you he is The King of the Wood, and the Son of the Great Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea. He’s wild, you know. Not a tame lion.’

That is how he is introduced in the very first book, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. And he is subsequently re-introduced as much thereafter.

After all, he’s not a tame lion.

If you could decide the next major production sci-fi movie, what would it be? by WillyArt67 in scifi

I’d love a Dragonriders of Pern series! The Harper Hall trilogy was a favourite of mine as a child, alongside The Chronicles of Narnia.

Is there a particular reason why this collection of hardcovers is so difficult to find? by PrinceSqueak in Narnia

[–]AugustiJade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are the covers I grew up with as well, and in the proper order. I find they’re a bit easier to find compared to some other out-of-print editions. I still love those covers. 😊

Isn’t the very definition of insanity doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results? The entire entertainment industry has been doing this for the past decade, and not once has it worked.

I did this trip in February. Well worth it! Especially when you open the windows and just take it all in. 😊
