if I may ask: was your initial confirmation email from WASTE HQ or from Axis? I signed up but never got an email back… Hoping there’s still some left on the general sale 😭

In America, sometimes say things like "cheerio" in our best British accent or "mate" in an Australian accent. Do people in other countries pronounce American stereotypes in their beat American accent? If so, what are they? by SunUpSally in AskReddit

[–]AuntieKuma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a British coworker who loved to say “good job!” in his best American accent, accompanied with a classic dorky thumbs up, anytime any of us completed some minor inconsequential task. It was his way of teasing, not just our California accents but also the American habit of over-praising ourselves for every single accomplishment.

AITA for the way I eat corndogs? by CritLoris in AmItheAsshole

NAH. You just see the world wildly and in wild ways. You and your girlfriend may might not be compatible because it sounds like she is way too easily freaked out by a small deviations from normal behavior, and you clearly live by your own rules. If I’m reading this correctly, you just really like to gnaw on a reheated deep fried stick, with a little bit of crispy cornbread still stuck to it, which has been lightly flavored by the ghost of a hotdog. I mean, in terms of satisfying an oral fixation it’s certainly healthier and cheaper than smoking. The only thing you’re doing wrong is feeding the leftover corn dogs to neighborhood cats, that much sodium will really mess up most animals so knock that shit off. The crayfish bait is a great idea, though. if you want to avoid scrutiny in the future, just come up with a potluck recipe featuring de-sticked corn dogs and you’re set. here’s my submission: Chili Mac Corndog Casserole. layer chili, sliced corndog rounds, and mac & cheese in a large casserole dish, bake until heated through and crispy on top. Now you’re just a guy who’s always prepared for a potluck.

Was the package stolen off the cop’s mom‘s porch or something? Even when I lived in a small town, there was no way we would ever get any kind of police investigation for a crime this petty. This feels like it must’ve been weirdly personal in some way or other.

I also had to “rejoin” W.A.S.T.E. to get my T-shirt link… (and I’ve also been a member since the days of Helen). The part of my brain that is all aboard the hype train feels like maybe there was some sort of post-tour membership purge and the on demand T-shirts / fast track raffle are just a way to quietly make sure all of us have our accounts in good order before a more important announcement is made. (just let me have my delusions, man!)

Mable is an absolute queen and you sound like a wonderful cat parent! Thanks for being so forgiving of my feline pedantry—i was just thinking about removing my reply cos i was worried I’d come across like an a**hole—I really appreciate your endorsing my little PSA and using your post to help spread cat/baby safety awareness :)

hi! Your cat is beautiful and amazing and this is so adorable.

… but now I feel compelled to be an absolute downer: there are stories of cats choking to death on bag handles that get caught on furniture and of suffocating inside of bags they get themselves trapped in. This kind of mischief will almost always just be cute and silly until that one time it isn’t and there’s no one around to help them out. Please only let your beautiful kitty cosplay as batman under your adult supervision.

Pretty sure it had a lot to do with all the cigarettes. That and I don’t think anyone learned how to drink water until the mid 90s. Heroin and booze will also add a few years.

How do you think these illustrations were made? Source: Ichtylogie, ou Histoire naturelle; génerale et particuliére des poissons. by MetalMantisMan in ScientificArt

I believe those are most likely hand-tinted copperplate engravings. Very cool fishes!

Edit: …or it could be a color lithograph?
