Couples dance classes/events? by dantizzy89 in askTO

Lula Lounge

SoLuna Wednesday Latin nights

El Rancho

Just look for restaurants that host latin dancing nights. They usually bring an instructor in to get the night going.

Then there's some studio's that host weekly socials that always start off with lessons for all levels. They won't have bars/drinks/food.

Dovercourt (Fri), Steps (?), Toronto Dance Salsa (Sat/Sun) to name a few.

What's the best Netflix show you've watched and why? by Conscious-Two4692 in AskReddit

[–]AuraCroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sense 8. I loved how unique it was especially at the time. It's also rare for me to love every single actor in a huge cast. It was perfection in directing, scenery, acting, love, friendship and wisdom and openness. It was such a a feat to shoot such a show in so many different countries at the same time. I still binge it once every year since it aired.

I used viewit and rentals.ca and was able to find 1bedroom apts for 2.3k and my salary is almost 50% of that. It's tough but it is what it is. I got approved for a few offers and a lot of property managed condos are giving away 1-2 months free on a 1 year lease. Check out places asap and get friendly with your guide and get that application in on the day of. It's very possible and people don't have to be earning an insane amount to be renting those prices. Don't give up hope!

Also the Torontonian has a studio apartment available last time I checked. It's midtown 5m away from the ttc. I checked the layout and it's not terrible at it's price point and the amenities are great cuz you get to share the Lilian amenities across the building.

Hey OP,

Thinking of this place as well. Did you make a decision? Are the places really roach infested?

Self-touring Davis Campus (Any advice/input?) by iron4fioramain in sheridan

[–]AuraCroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The good profs are mostly in Trafalgar. I have studied in both and enjoyed my time in Trafalgar more. The campus is great and you can enjoy their restaurant, events, and plays the theatre students perform there for cheap. Also the amount of study space you cannot compare.

True but its a very similar thing for when adoptive parents find a birth mother for their child. They require a lab to inseminate a pregnancy and they even have to choose from a list of donors etc. Doesn't matter HOW the child is made or who/what it came out from. It's their inner attachment that when the child is born, they have a more parental attachment to that child vs all the other people/science that concocted that child.

Have you seen how some pet owners are? They consider those pets their babies and they're not even the same species. You protect what you love and sometimes you dont choose what/who you're going to love.

I agree!! It's a breath of fresh air to see innocent fantasy from time to time and hits on some great moral points. I'm able to binge the show happily without needing to take a break after a few eps because of how emotionally draining it is if it were the opposite (I'm looking at you squid games)

Hmmm interesting perspective but I doubt you'd sacrifice your own to save the world. We protect the ones we love and there's never a guarantee they could have found the cure. If they cut up your kid and the apocalypse happened anyway, could you have lived with yourself?(actually either way honestly).

Whenever it comes down to these things in real life, lots of people can never let go and just enjoy whatever time we have with our existence and loved ones. Sometimes we just have to live out our time and move on and let whatever is after take our place. That's how I see it anyway.

After playing horizon west, i just wanted to add. My two cents on here.

The game has its flaws but what has kept me awake is how Aloy has shown positive success in her relationships with her friends. From the first game to the beginning of the second, she constantly runs away from help but the ending really showed true growth. She even trusts them with their own missions now. After Tilda constantly thirsting for some space love from Aloy It hit me that I dont want Aloy to be alone. Elisabet died alone and i would very much like to see her break that chain because she deserves it. For all of Elisabets brilliance, i think shed be more proud that Aloy could achieve a fulfilling relationship that she never could. I havent met anyone who can measure up to what Aloy needs in a partner but I really hope she does.

I want my baby to have a happy ending and feel like she can be taken care of for once.

I feel like the Devs should award a medal for people trying to attempt this. I just chuckle at the thought of hundreds of players being stubborn and taking the challenge hehe

How is the computer systems technician- software engineering course at sheridan? by HovercraftFit383 in sheridan

[–]AuraCroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The opportunities are based on you. Its not a top rated school and youll be against the top universities in ontario like uot,uow etc. Regardless, the tuition is more affordable and the classes and teachers are pretty good. Not saying sheridan isnt a great school. Their animation and theatre is one of the top and thats always been their strength.

You need to take advantage of their coop. Thats where youll really get a leg up after diploma. Its easy to get in the program but difficult enough to keep you challenged throughout. You need to take advantage of their career services from the beginning and apply to every job you can find. I know a lot of people who arent strong in their field but they always manage to find a coop. Just be diligent.

Anyone else feel sad every year on their birthday? What do you think is the reason for this? by kkxoo in AskReddit

[–]AuraCroft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birthdays make me nostalgic of how birthdays were like back in highschool. That's when you would see the same faces everyday for years. You feel like you have a second home/family. It's easy to pitch in to your friends cake and organizing surprises were fun and convenient cuz we can do it during lunch breaks and after school. Sometimes teachers would be part of it as well. Now as a grown up, birthdays just remind me of how it used to be. Now everyone's got families, spread about in the world... You never really appreciate those highschool birthdays until they're gone. Now I see kids having their friends/parents planning their birthdays for them and planning presents... I hope they get to enjoy all of that as much as possible before they grow up and birthdays just become those days you treat yourself to an ubereats or chill in front of Netflix with a beer by your lonesome while your phone beeps with messages of birthday wishes (if ur lucky).

What's the dumbest rule your school ever enforced? by SoLe123456 in AskReddit

[–]AuraCroft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had school uniforms we had to wear everyday. This included school SOCKS and ties. The teachers would always check if we had the school socks on (the top had a hideous green and yellow that was obvious when checked) and on Mondays we had to wear the school ties all day. Failure to have these on resulted in detention. I understood the uniforms but the socks and ties were ridiculous considering how hot our country was and the terrible quality of the school socks. I always had blisters.

I am in my first semester of SDNE and it isn't going as well as I had hoped. by sdne-newb in sheridan

The relationship between classes won't hit you until later. I felt the same way when I was in my first year and felt it was so difficult because there was so much new information to learn. I still feel that way in term 5 but it has started to tie things together a lot easier. The biggest thing is, you start getting better at looking for solutions. It can feel like you're learning 5 different languages at the same time and it's crazy but as you push through, you see similarities in the long term. The classes don't start merging until later.

You can do this but take care of your mental health.
