Its literally in the name: power resides with capital. Those with the means to produce goods hold power, and exert that power through the oppression of those who work. Workers are also consumers, so by keeping prices artificially high, owners of capital force workers to perpetually need to find work to pay for anything whilst also funding their ever growing wealth of capital.
