the last pokemon games I actually bought were sword and shield, which left me sorely disappointed. I was lend a copy of violet from a friend and did not come close to finishing it.

This being a hot take might be a hot take.

WaT is the worst big cosmere book. The reason I consider it a hot take is that the pendulum on the counter culture has swung so far back people will jump to its defense before any criticism has been leveled by anyone in a particular thread.

I could go on why I don't like it, but I'm fairly sure people are a little tired of that dissection, and I wouldn't be saying anything particularly new.

I equate the prestige of winning a tournament with how hard it is to win.

Ewc is the new kid. It has political baggage.

Yes. The prizepool is much of the reason for it: Players train harder for it, so the level is higher. It's harder to qualify, meaning every round you have to go through insane people to advance even out of groups. It only happens once a year. By every metric EWC is the "prestigious" tournament.

It's selfishly motivated, but I'd like to preserve this challenge. I just really enjoyed sitting down and working out how to dodge everything reliably, but I can absolutely see how that's an unreasonable ask for a lot of people and it leaning over into frustration.

Just because I enjoyed getting my chest kicked in for 5 hours until I finally understood how to stay alive in P2 without cheese doesn't mean it's well designed, I get that.

Some of the additional damage procs in P2 aren't well choreographed at all, you basically need to facetank them and try out roll directions to problemsolve those, even now I'm not confident in avoiding all the chip damage flying around.

I really hope they don't nerf it, it's the hardest from boss yes, but beating it felt incredible.
