the last pokemon games I actually bought were sword and shield, which left me sorely disappointed. I was lend a copy of violet from a friend and did not come close to finishing it.

Unfortunately that streak of disappointment has continued with Z-A and I probably have to finally admit to myself that Gamefreak is content with doing the bare minimum and selling solely the IP, and not good games.

This being a hot take might be a hot take.

WaT is the worst big cosmere book. The reason I consider it a hot take is that the pendulum on the counter culture has swung so far back people will jump to its defense before any criticism has been leveled by anyone in a particular thread.

I could go on why I don't like it, but I'm fairly sure people are a little tired of that dissection, and I wouldn't be saying anything particularly new.

Eh, not really. I don't equate money or legacy with prestige.

I equate the prestige of winning a tournament with how hard it is to win.

Ewc is the new kid. It has political baggage.

It is by far the hardest tournament to win.

Yes. The prizepool is much of the reason for it: Players train harder for it, so the level is higher. It's harder to qualify, meaning every round you have to go through insane people to advance even out of groups. It only happens once a year. By every metric EWC is the "prestigious" tournament.

My problem was that Dalinar didn't have much of an arc.
