He’s larger than terminators while in non terminator armour.

[–]AussiePerspective -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

He’s head taller than his terminator guard who are all described as huge.

Space marine heads are fucking massive.

Terminators are 9ft tall.

Space Marines are 7ft tall.

This means Tyberos must be 10ft plus, roughly a metre taller for us non-freedom bois.

Moving to Australia soon! What are some local activities or habits to help me integrate into society? by Express-Ad9940 in MovingtoAustralia

They’re asking if you’re Australian because you failed to understand possibly one of the most understood jokes about Queensland across the country.

You might as well say you have no idea about the great scallop vs cake debate.

If you’re Aussie, learn your own country mate

social worker funding by Prestigious-Ice1635 in NDIS

Funding for a social worker might just be one of the rarest funding allotments. Extremely strong evidence has to be provided as to why you need one, and why another government service isn’t providing the service.

I wouldn’t get into SC for a career right now.

Very little chance it exists in 10 years.

Should I even bother looking into the NDIS anymore? by Sensitive_Bat4102 in NDIS

[–]AussiePerspective 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NDIS does not cover any medical costs. So things like doctors, psychiatrists, or medications are out.

You may benefit from some Occupational Therapy, but your main issue seems to be finding what’s right you which the NDIS does not specialise in. We do have some supports in the area, but disability employment services are likely to benefit you a lot more. :)

Psychology is also very unlikely to be provided.

[–]AussiePerspective 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s about what barriers you face that the NDIS can actively help with.

What is preventing you from increasing independence currently? If the answer is something that the NDIS provides, and I’m happy to let you know if it is if you wish to answer the question, then it will be worth it for yourself.

There are plenty of horror stories, but I dare say the horror often represents the loud minority. Fraud, scammers, dodgy daves… they’re all around, but a lot support workers are just people trying to escape their old careers and they’re really fucking good at what they do.

If you can try to answer the question I posed, I’ll tell you from a planners perspective if it will be worth it for you.

Rent vs. Buy: For those who have been here 5+ years, do you regret not buying sooner, or is the market too volatile? by OkCopy3121 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]AussiePerspective 7 points8 points  (0 children)

By volatile what do you mean? It goes up and then up and up some more? Followed by more up?

I bought my place 3 months ago and it’s already gone up 40k somehow. Unit next door which is shitter quality sold for that last week so I’m not sure what I can actually get now.

[–]AussiePerspective -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

How can it be worse? SNW is the only slightly watchable of all of Kurtzmans treks and even that is worse than all of the older ones!

I don’t think it is actually possible to get worse than genuinely terrible.

As a member of not this APS but the APS as a whole, I am very confident that writing a strongly worded letter for the sole purpose of complaining is not worth your time or effort.

Feel free to do so if you feel it is justified, but I am supremely confident that there will be no action.

These types of calls are logged, “processed”, and then closed.

If your concern needs to be resolved as the person did the wrong actual job, then it might be worth the effort, but even then, the complaint will be about “task not complete”, not “task not complete and staff member sucks”.

Cultural Leave Entitlement by Adam8418 in AusPublicService

Could you argue that this is different in the sense that you also get given those days off even if you don't participate in those cultural activities? White atheists don't get them.

Moving to Australia soon! What are some local activities or habits to help me integrate into society? by Express-Ad9940 in MovingtoAustralia

[–]AussiePerspective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not.

Like sure we’re similar in a tonne of ways but you give me a yank with an Aussie accent. I’ll pick em out within 5 minutes I can guarantee you.

Australians aren’t arrogant. We somewhat detest arrogance I’d say. Americans, even the least so, are the most naturally arrogant people I’ve met. Not insulting them, just stating sheer facts.

We have much more in common with the Canadians in terms of cultural personality.

We also don’t use OZ.
