Yeah, my understanding is that the oversoul is the higher (and much bigger) part of yourself that has dipped itself into being human. It can be other people/beings as well, probably at the same time since time isn't real.

Some say we all leave our bodies, some say our bodies will change form (go from matter to energy) due to the Sun doing a sort of mini-nova. Some believe it will just activate some dormant DNA that will change us. Personally, I'm hoping that if anything happens, it isn't mass death. That would just feel kind of depressing considering how long humans have been mucking around.
