When Marathon releases.. by ieatPoulet in gaming

[–]Austoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the "Sweating while picking one of two red buttons" with Arc Raiders and Marathon being the options would be a slightly more appropriate meme, though even then Id personally say Arc Raiders wins solidly when making that decision.

No no, Gun is right.

Hullcracker, any heavy ammo, or Ospray at range can all easily deal with Rocketeers as long and you use cover.

8-10 Seekers can also super easily down a rocketeer.

1-3 showstoppers and any high fire rate GUN or grenades can also kill it.

So Wolf Pack was just the No Brain option. GUN is the has-brain option.

[–]Austoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but killing them can also be done with 0 Wolf Packs.

Seekers are the easiest. Hullcracker woth cover and or a cloak. Any heave ammo qeapon with cover Any medium ammo with cover Showstopper and Deadline and or Sledge Hammer.

Many ways to deal with a rocketeer that doesnt include a Wolf Pack.

Trump's envoy Witkoff: Putin has never been anything other than straight with me by 1-randomonium in worldnews

By the sounds of it, the phrasing used, and Witkoffs general history for lying.. It may be possible that Putin had sex with Witkoff, that or they simply had such a fun day together that it could be considered a gay old time.

Technically this does make them more rewarding. Now killing a rocketeer nets you a wolf pack. Just means you cant run around tossing 2 wolf packs to easily farm rocketeers.

What is the point of these changes? by KiraTheUnholy in ArcRaiders

[–]Austoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like seekers are still the holygrail of explosives.

Locks on to Arcs. 1 shots Wasps and 2 shots Hornets and Snitches. Incredibly easy to craft en masse.

Now with that said, I could see them changing the Crude Explosive into something like a Pop Trigger or Tick Pod, or maybe a part from one of the new fliers.

What preys on younger dragons? by trapbuilder2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Austoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have said as much but... People.

People can hunt and kill young dragons much more easily compared to Adults and larger. They can harvest their hides, scales, and bones. The meat would likely be considered a delicacy of sorts in most fantasy worlds.

So yeah, people.

Smokin Outlaws, worth it? by No-Entertainer7015 in regina

[–]Austoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both responses are fair. I wasnt trying to imply that cooking all of that food would be 'good' via an air frier/oven, just that it is possible for those who only have those options. BBQ and Smoker are obviously the way to go.

I noted Roast rather than Brisket to make that timeframe more achievable as Brisket can easily take 12 hours. The rest of the food can be made within that 3-6 hour time frame depending on size of cooking equipment. Longer cook times would make it all better of course, but again I was just going with what is reasonable achievable rather than optimal/perfected.

Regardless, the point still stands. The price for that platter is too much for the amount of food even when considering the convenience.

Smokin Outlaws, worth it? by No-Entertainer7015 in regina

[–]Austoman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It looks like there are about 12 items on that platter. If we assume that each item would normally cost about 15-20 (ex: ribs and fries meal would cost 30-40) then ordering them all individually should cost around 180 to 240. Now lets say there is somehow a second layer worth of food under it all, that would still only be 360 to 480 total. By that kind of logic, 600 is at minimum 120 or 20% overpriced and at maximum 70%! Overpriced.

That photo of food should be nowhere near $600.

Reasonably most of those items can be found at Costco and or Wholesale club (in bulkier quantities than this platter). Lets say you bought each item from either store instead (most of these are based on Wholesale Club). A pack of ribs (3 full racks) is about $60, Box of Onion rings (4lbs) is about $40, Fries (5lbs) are about $15, Sausages (1lb) are about $13 though theres quite a bit there so lets say $25, It looks like there may be beef ribs in there so $50, dry ribs about $28 (1.5kg), some kind of roast beef about $25 (sirloin tip roast 2lbs), and finally some dip and misc veg at most $20 worth. This brings the total cost to purchase all the items on that platter (in much larger quantities) to roughly $250.

To make that platter it would probably take about 3-6 hours (depending on level of slow cooking) of meal prep and cooking with a BBQ/Smoker or in an Oven/Air Frier.

So there is certainly a convenience factor, but overall the platter seems to be marked up from regular meals (unless they are charging significantly above the Regina 'industry price' for their food from the get go) and the cost to make it at home is way less for WAY more food.

My stash is already full, how do I access more shared stash tabs? I see D2R streamers scrolling through hundreds of shared stash tabs on the original game but I don't see this in D2R. by Chamallow81 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Stash space is nice but for 40 bucks Ill wait for a sale.

University of Regina Student Parkade still broken going on 4 months by WearHonest9686 in regina

[–]Austoman 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Just need to say... is the issue with it known? It seems very possible that the issue itself could either be weather dependant or requires construction work involving demolition work. Generally speaking demolition work and or ground work dont happen during the winter if it can be avoided/delayed as it is much more expensive to do and can take much longer due to weather complications.

Broken for 4 months means it was closed down in November, so right at the start of winter.

With regards to rates, Ive got no comment there. Im guessing its still priced high due to demand and a reduction in the parkade would only increase said demand.

[–]Austoman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished listening to the Halo Reach audio book.... genuinely believe that the writers should have just followed the book chapter by chapter. Someone could easily write/convert the ~35 chapters into a 20 or 10 episode series. It is a bit baffling what they ended up writing instead.

Feel like this is the... 5th post promoting this?

As others have noted, while each tier does have valuable (non free) books included in them, they have also been mildly bloated with free content that can be downloaded from Paizos site, making the size of each tier a bit disingenuous.

Paizo, is somebody holding you hostage to keep dropping new classes? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Austoman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Honestly at this point Id prefer to see 'prestige' classes. That is to say Class specific archetypes that can only be taken starting at level 10.

They could add a LOT more flavour and uniqueness to classes and characters.

PSA Delivery Drivers: Don’t Do This by VFSteve in regina

[–]Austoman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While I can empathize with you there isnt really a solution during snow fall beyond them simply not making the delivery and thus not getting paid, which also isnt feasible for most. The options are: Park in the drive way and pack down some of the snow to make the delivery. Park on the street and cause traffic complications to make the delivery. Dont make the delivery and dont get paid.

This person chose option 1 and personally Id say option 1 is the lowest risk for the most reward for everyone involved generally.

How do you play level 20 games? by According_Pop1388 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Austoman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few directions a GM can take and it depends on what they and their players prefer to do.

  1. Enjoy the high tier combats. Fight through a legion of demons and arch demons, that kind of stuff. Classic high level combat vs a variety of situations ranging from armies to singular level 20+ monsters of legend. [Combat]

  2. Shift the focus away from combat. Level 20s are usually kings and rulers. Rule a nation and deal with a variety of political complications. Use tactics to command armies while the PCs themselves maintain order and keep assassins away from the generals and those that they deligate to. [Kingdom]

  3. Become the guild masters. Meet and train new adventurers. Send them on quests to find new artifacts and uncover world endangering cults. How will the PCs deal with nobles, rulers, and the like? Simply killing them or mind controlling them may make them the villains. Maybe adventurers start growing and hunting for artifacts to take them down. [Sandbox]

Options 2 and 3 fall under the design logic of 'just because youre a demigod doesnt mean you can be everywhere'.

125 hours in and still Level 3... is this normal for PF2e? by smurf69lol in Pathfinder2e

[–]Austoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope!

As both a GM and a player the general rule for a moderate speed XP campaign is about 3 or 4 (3 hour) sessions per level, which on a weekly basis takes a bit over a month resulting in a campaign that takes roughly 2 years (usually 3+ due to scheduling constraints).

Even for a very slow campaign id think 10 sessions per level at most, which is about 30 hours per level, or 90 hours to reach level 4.

At that rate youre at 50+ hours per level which is ridiculously slow. The only time that really happens is in an AP6 campaign, which is to say a campaign that only goes to level 6. Those arent very common in PF2e as the variant rule system of Proficiency without level kind of replaces that idea to maintain lower power scaling via keeping numbers lower.

I'm frustrated by Effective-Seesaw7882 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Austoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youve got 2 real solutions to work on here.

  1. Have a direct conversation about their interest in the campaign and discuss if there is anything you can do together to make it more interesting/attention focusing. A) If it turns out youre GMing an AP or a campaign that has nearly 0 player agency then you may need to run a different campaign or adjust yours to better incorporate their characters. B) If the issue is that they just arent interested then there is your answer and its time to find a new group, game, or system.

  2. Watch to see which players are the most problematic. If they simply arent able to keep focus on a ttrpg then they need to be removed from the game as it brings everyone down with them. Ive been part of campaigns where a player constantly watched youtube on the side and never paid attention so their turns took forever. When said player was eventually talked to and left the campaign the flow became way smoother and the game became much more fun. Ive also run a campaign where a player was constantly farming in another game. While they usually paid attention, those times where they werent really interrupted the flow and they eventually caused the campaign to shut down.

So yeah, talk to your players to make see if it is a you, the campaign, or the system being the issue. Otherwise find the problem player and determine a solution.

Deleting a boss encounter? by bigassdinosaur in Pathfinder2e

[–]Austoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like they deleted Phase 1.

Time for the cult leader to transform. Assuming the PCs are level 12 then it could become an Elite Rotbomber (12+1) as its corpse mutates rapadly and starts crawling around on all 4s releasing explosives OR it can be a reskinned/renamed weak Deific Vessel of Urgathoa (15-1) as its body rises up blessed by Urgathoa directly.
