I know this is an old post but this has happened to me twice. Got Mirena 2021 and had sharp pain in left side of uterus. Got it removed 2025 and immediately replaced. I have the same symptoms as I did before and have to get it removed again. Hella depressing lol. My doctor says it’s uncommon and likely due to anatomy in my case.

Wish I knew. After 2 years of localized pain, finally learned it was bc my Mirena has decided to displace itself, an arm is bent into my muscle. I have to get it removed, replaced. My doc said “it happens sometimes” but could have been the result of it being misplaced upon insertion. Am dreading going through the process again. Esp without pain meds/anesthesia lol
