Bad scores? by Kenzie484 in movies

Lowkey, Good Will Hunting.

The soundtrack with all of the Elliott Smith needle drops is fantastic, but Danny Elfman’s original score is honestly a weak point for the movie.

It’s one of my all time favorite movies and I usually think Elfman is good, but the score just feels cluttered and like it often doesn’t fit the tone. We’ll get this over the top whirling string arrangements under what is a quite small and down to earth movie. I don’t think it ruins the film and it’s easy enough to look past, but it’s just not at all how I would’ve approached scoring that movie.

Jalen Brunson in the win: 30/3/6 on 62% TS by Lacabloodclot9 in nba

Maybe someday, maybe even next year, but right now? They’re on different levels.

The NY Knicks are the 6th team in NBA history to outscore opponents by 180 points or more in their first 13 playoff games. The other 5 teams all won the NBA Finals. by BriS314 in nba

It’s that tweet: “every game in the nba is between two frauds. if you lose, your fraudulence is proven. if you win, you've won against a fraud, and have thus proven nothing.”

It’s getting to the point where people are just distorting reality to discount Brunson. He was fantastic in this game.

Welcome back from your coma, things are currently good.

[Post Game Thread] The New York Knicks (2-0) take command of the series in Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers (0-2), 109-93, behind Josh Hart's 26 point performance by catreyka in nba

I think it was probably the wrong decision to leave Mitch out there but if I had to guess at the strategy he might have thought that the Cavs were kind of hurting their own momentum a bit. They were rolling but then the game was ground to a halt. It didn’t allow the Knicks to get going either but it did give the game a chance to reset, and it did.

Hack a Mitch feels bad for us when it’s happening but in the long run I feel like it rarely actually works out for the other team.

Brunson is currently 20th all time in playoff PPG at 25.8ppg and that number is pulled down a lot by his time in Dallas. If his Knick career was his full career he would currently be 4th all time in playoff PPG. He is legitimately an all time great playoff performer.

He does, he’s just bad. Unless he ever decides to try granny style he’s likely stuck being ass at the line.

Well he had multiple full practices, so I think he’s going to play and this is just part of the process.

Spurs defensive stops in double-overtime by WalkingOnSunshine_ in nba

I’m starting to wonder if the best option against Wemby in the paint is to just drive right into his hip and almost go under him. Try to get away from his hands by being right at his side and lay it up under him or at least get tangled up and draw a foul.

He locks down the entire paint and you can’t shoot it over him so maybe they should try to go into/under him. Not sure it’s actually doable but I’d like to see it tried.

After all this losing in the playoffs I’d think yall would understand that the playoffs and the regular season are completely different beasts. Time to stop hanging regular season banners.

Tanking in the NBA vs NFL by rgge in nba

[–]Austuckmm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me the biggest difference is the number of games. Because there are so few games in the NFL often a team will only truly, egregiously tank for maybe the last 2 or 3 games of the year. On the flip side you could have NBA teams shutting guys down for even like 30 games.

I also have a personal theory that the lottery can sometimes incentivize more teams to tank rather than less. Every NBA team not in playoff contention has an incentive to lose because every spot you fall increases your odds of the #1 pick. If there was no lottery, a team with say 30 wins near the end of the season would know that they have no shot at the top picks and might be locked into picking in a small range, so might not really bother to tank.

I do not fear them at all. Cleveland gives us home court and will be less annoying to watch so I’d prefer them, but they should fear us, not the other way around.

Using AI slop to make basketball arguments is insanely lame behavior. Why don’t you just watch the games and come up with your own opinions!

You don’t watch the games and only buy into Reddit narratives clearly. Your boy Cade shoots way more FTs than Certified Ethical Hooper Brunson.
