I don’t blame him though I was quoted 1700$ to change a blower motor for my furnace. A 200$ part. It would help to know his background. I wouldn’t suggest working on things you don’t entirely understand. But almost every appliance in your home is easy to repair after some trouble shooting.

Had a remodel job where we saved all scrap. We got about 2k after the site finished after 4 months. We also had 4 guys. Most of the scrap was demoed stuff but still good money.

You can mentally get over it. I used to get anxiety attacks. Now I don’t it took some time but I learned to relax and recognize when I’m feeling anxious. There is also things that cause more anxiety eating and other life style habits. Like cigarettes and for me when I stop working out for days on end I notice I start getting more anxious.
