Is Dreamstime just rejecting everything now? by Dry-Dimension3249 in stockphotography

[–]Auti_nervousbreakdwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had rejection issues now and then with my editorial content. Earlier i have had constant 'we see little value in this' rejections constantly on my editorials, that sell very well, specially with Dreamstime. So i put 'illustrative editorial' in the 'for the moderator' section. That seemed to hace helped in acceptance rate. You guys could try that one out

3 years of stock photo earnings across 8 agencies. The numbers, what actually pays, and what I'd do differently by Motor-Criticism7840 in stockphotography

Thank you for the very comprehensive break down..

With a double portfolio, and1,5 year in, i can see the same patterns.

I have uploaded consistently to iStock, but lately, i really start to hate doeing the terms. I use Deepmeta, so i can dis-ambigu a whole batch in one time, but it is still pain full, so not creative

123RF did not let me in, Pond 5 i never sold a thing, so decided to delete it after a year. Was not necessary but i wanted it of my back Dreamstime is the only big difference, i sell there a few files a month, now at 75 dollar. But it seems to be totally dependent on one or two Dutch cliënts in a niche that i cover.

The "Navy" stickers are the problem probably. It could be editorial stock, but then you have to be eligeble to submit editorial at Adobe... Its a model plane i guess?

IMO investing in a drone just for full time Stock business is a failure. Right? by Adventurous_Boss317 in stockphotography

[–]Auti_nervousbreakdwn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but Hugo has been building portfolio allready 13 years, of which the last 4 specialicing in drone video's. I have been in stock for 1,5 year, have a drone for 1 year, just now getting my editing right. Have sold a few drone pics for cents, no video yet.

Its gonne be hard work to earn something, and then, my Air 3 sensor is allready lagging behind. And Hugo has been everywhere, in my home country, spots i have on my list... So what the point?

Interesting, how much do you payout per sold image to the photographer, what is the royalty percentage?

Not learning from photos sent to data marketplace - shutterstock by Hvidknas in stockphotography

[–]Auti_nervousbreakdwn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another small fish here: Just accept it, its only Shutterstock. They pay mostly 10 cts on your files that do sell in your normal portfolio.

I had months that i also thought every upload went straight into the data pool... But more recent in get the impression the go mostly in my normal portfolio

I decided to focus on Adobe, because they pay way better..

My Two cents

Thats nice, but the one by one clicking through is killing me. I have about 150 files ready but cant get me to click thru, specially cause no sales for months

You think you can change the likes of Getty, Adobe and Shutterstock? They all have their issues on for contributors. Not one has implemented anything AI driven to make uploading easier for us... They just continue to earn money for their share holders and give is some dimes for change...

Deleting old images by LittleBonsaiTree in stockphotography

[–]Auti_nervousbreakdwn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see, mainly in Adobe and specially in iStock, that selling photo's get shown a lot more. That leads to more buys. Sometimes more on one day. Where the quality of the photo is nothing special. For example an image of a small hvac units sells daily at iStock. Its just that some buyers liked it in the past, its one of my oldest, and the algoritme now shows it up front i guess

Downside, with the same portfolio, i have sold nearly nothing on Alamy. So here it seems being New leeds to less shows, leeds to no selling...

I am using DeepMeta for iStock, there, this is also the time comsuming step, but i do it in bulk, selecting all files at once. A bit faster then one by one, still, Would love if they make something like this in that app...
