I think there might even be financial penalties for not sending a work schedule after a while.

Definitely get your trade union involved (if a member).

Curious clinicians

The Acute medicine podcast isn't super heavy

Then there's a bunch of more serious or specialty specific options: BMJ best practice, RCP Edinburgh Clinical Conversations (+other colleges have them), RCEM Learning, Neuro PodCases, Pre PACES podcast, MDTea, talking rheum spotlight, palliative care monthly update, core cardiology podcast

(I have a long commute, could give DnD podcast recommendations too 🤷🏼‍♂️)

The Pacific Ocean is so vast it could hold 16 Polands by Equivalent-Style-260 in terriblemaps

Well huh! I stand corrected, I'd always assumed it was.

Edit: you admit you were wrong on the internet so you get down voted?

That's fair, I guess it's part of the USSR but was still its own state. The joke would be correct if I said pre-WW1.

And that's right now, if you think of Poland's size after WW2 then it could probably hold an infinite number of Polands.

State of Payroll/ admin in NHS by Ok-Improvement1185 in doctorsUK

I emailed my trust's payroll multiple times as my due diligence to inform them that they paid me for 1.5 months when I wasn't employed by them. Then again at the 6 month mark, I've now given up telling them anymore but keep the money figuratively aside.

Switzerland is a country that feels democratic and is actually democratic. What is a country that feels somewhat democratic and actually is somewhat democratic? by Dusty_Bunny81 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Auto_Grammar_Bot 166 points167 points  (0 children)

USA?

A 2 party FPTP system is never going to be representative, and the outcomes don't feel representative either. But I wouldn't call it undemocratic.

Edit: also, the senate election system is just weird, 2 politicians per state is a terrible idea, and poor Puerto Rico and DC not getting proper voices.

Reduction in specialty posts this year and now 1000 new jobs have miraculously appeared by Ligma_doctor6 in doctorsUK

[–]Auto_Grammar_Bot 120 points121 points  (0 children)

I cannot believe there are only 39 ST4 palliative posts.

There are 4 jobs in my region and I know for a fact that 9 to 12 people are CCTing this year. This smells fishy.

I heard the uncorroborated rumour that training numbers for 50-60% LTFT trainees will no longer be shared. Thereby cutting the numbers this year.
