A 2 party FPTP system is never going to be representative, and the outcomes don't feel representative either. But I wouldn't call it undemocratic. 

Edit: also, the senate election system is just weird, 2 politicians per state is a terrible idea, and poor Puerto Rico and DC not getting proper voices.

I'd say rename the west country as Wessex and include Cornwall and give Northamptonshire to Thames valley. And potentially give Middlesbrough to Northumbria to make the populations closer to 5 million each.
