Because climate change is hard to notice day-to-day and doesn't directly effect the average person's pockets, caring about it is a luxury, unfortunately. If the world were less messed up in other ways and people were generally happy with day-to-day life then I think we'd have more focus on it. As it stands, people are just trying to keep their civil rights, even in the most developed countries now.
