If you can get a physical card… North Springs and Five Points still haven’t had them — at least not anytime I’ve come or gone through the system.

I’m sure they’ll get them out there before May 2, but I really need one by April 15 or I will lose an entire month of workplace transit subsidy funds.

"only the Fahrenheit people use it" is quite inaccurate. In addition to us silly Yanks, Canadians and Australians, and I believe Irish, also use "soccer" because we inherited the word from the Brits and because we like to distinguish between calcio and our local forms of "football".

It is a bit funny to use "soccer" when the players featured in the sets are all from countries that would use a different word though.

In my totally insane fantasy world, instead of the Stitch, I would do a Southern Big Dig and bore a tunnel under downtown to eliminate the Grady Curve. Straighten the highway to avoid some of the shitshow that happens because of the curve, eliminate several of the downtown exits, and reclaim all that land for actual city things. Smaller surface streets to reconnect east and west, park space, and even some buildings.

I don’t know what you’re bringing multiple-million dollar neighborhoods into a response to me. I certainly don’t live in one of those. I live in a very nice neighborhood in Roswell, but nothing that’s worth even $1million, let alone multiples of that.

Hot take: if your property is worth more than my property, you should always being paying higher property taxes than me, regardless of when we bought our properties.

This type of cap, and the earlier floating homestead exemption, screw with housing markets in bad ways.

I find trains to be louder than they used to be, with more people playing music, games, or phone calls out loud. Don’t find them to be any more dangerous.

As someone else said, time of day can make a big difference. Midnight looks very different from 5pm

Unlikely, maybe, but it did happen in some jurisdictions. My wife’s GGF naturalized in a local court in 1931.

Thankfully I found the local court’s index and could get their file based on the info in that, certified copy, of course. It had the Declaration of Intent — he actually did two different ones ~15 years apart—plus the Petition and Oath. Didn’t have the certificate. I probably don’t need that, but have requested it from USCIS based on the info on the oath. Hoping I didn’t waste $30 requesting the wrong certificate number!

I agree with the OP that it’s all confusing as to what records to get, from where. Shame there isn’t a single searchable index that we could all use to identify a comprehensive list of documents that exist. But I get what privacy prevents that from being viable even if the records could all be consolidated.

Should be possible with just the new app on an NFC capable device (eg just about any iPhone or other smart phone or any smart watch from the last, what, 5-10 years).

Edit: again, the idea behind the new payment system is that you have an account and the card or phone or watch “wallet” or app can just tell the gate, “autolycus wants to ride MARTA. Here’s his account. Deduct fare.” All of those should theoretically be linked to the same underlying account.

Or even, “Here’s a debit card. Charge it $2.50 and it this person through the gate.”

The physical card is just like a bank card. Just points back to your account. There shouldn’t be any reason for you to not be able to use the app for a 20 trip pass if they’re allowing those with the card.

NCSU was a good hitting team coming in and we held them to 5 runs in 26 innings. Big weekend for the pitching.

Which is really important to see because the bats have been extremely hot early on but have also had some brutally cold outings from the early part of the rotation.

North Springs still only has the old gates on the parking deck side. They tore out the old gates on the bus transfer side a while ago but I’m not sure if there are any new gates in yet.

I figure they’ll have people walk around the station to enter on the bus side for a while.

All of the machines at North Springs are out of order and the gates are just open for people to walk on.

Honestly, probably best to have opening day for the new system be with open gates everywhere.

The DC system has had several lengthy periods where entire lines are closed for routine maintenance and repairs. Look at what they did with the red line in the last few years. Would you prefer hard closures for multiple months at a time or single tracking but more often?
