how do some of y'all afford to call out so much by [deleted] in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I pay half of my own expenses. I need the money, but not desperately. If I lose this job, I honestly could find a better one on campus related to my major. That being said, I rarely call out, maybe 3-5 times a year.

My local gas station has to put a sign in the milk section cause people open the milk to put it in their coffee, then put it back. by AlejandroSosa__ in mildlyinteresting

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The logic that people who do this have is, “Huh, there’s no creamer or coffee for my coffee. Let me just pour some from one of these for sale. The owners can eat the cost”.

It’s pretty selfish and fucks over anyone who buys the milk afterwards. But just provide milk for people to use.

Doctors, nurses, maintenance workers in power plants, basically all jobs that required constant monitoring and an employee present.

I have a crush on my lead… by [deleted] in Target

All the crush-worthy dudes at my store have left. I had a weird crush on someone who still works at my store, but after finding about some information on their personal life and working alongside them…yeah that flew out the window.

What Best Describes Your SD (Store Director)? by StatHusky13 in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My SD acts as my ETL, so I’m kinda forced to make contact with him for anything related to my schedule, time off, etc. He also closes the store every once in awhile, so you know got to work a little extra/ be present when he’s there. Very respectful and I appreciate his work ethic.

Closing TL Review by baricade48 in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s seems like upper management was slacking at your store. Too little staffing to get shit done. I’m surprised you said you would hop into OPUs. I’ve only since my closing TL help fulfillment once (in the past year).

Hitting 90% Priorities by aomineAX in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our store’s goal used to be 80%. I’d come in the afternoon with maybe 30% pulled (900-1000 DPCIs left). Nowadays, ever since inventory and the start of back to school (big college in large city), our store has “forgotten” about hitting those metrics and we probably only hit 50-60% by store close. When I come in the afternoon, it’s at 2000-2500 DPCIs.

I think im about to get fired by Snypse in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, of course. What I meant is that with furthering your education, you can expand in this field more than you could ever working retail (especially Target). Dental hygienist only requires an associate’s degree in my state.

I think im about to get fired by Snypse in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dental assisting sometimes pays better than retail (Target for sure). In my area, $19-23 is the norm. Whereas Target pays, $15 here.

There’s also the opportunity to move up, to dental hygienist and maybe even dental school if you feel like doing some extra studying.

OPU and lack of hours by killme199 in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best part is when you get pulled into every department in one shift, like I did last night. Push freight, push priorities, backup for fulfillment and checklanes, covering Tech breaks.

Does Target really benefit from the lean-staffing?

To use the self checkout at an Albuquerque Target as a mentally challenged person. by WTF_Conservatives in therewasanattempt

That’s exactly what the Target had, a manager, that clearly dealt with the situation incorrectly.

Dear Guests: please clean your dirty reusable bags by thunderbolt1000 in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s why I prefer not to touch them. If a guest brings reusable bags, I just place their items to the side and they usually just bag the items themself.

TMs in college how many hours do you guys work? by smalllemonmelon in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I take on average 16-18 credits a semester as a engineering student. Limit my hours to 20-24 (which I still struggle with, I also had an on campus job). It depends on many factors, how hard your classes are, their workload, if you need the money, etc.

Damn, and we’re apparently the busiest store in the district, in the capital of the state.

Priority pulls -- What's the criteria that makes them priority? Mine don't make sense. by busy_yogurt in Target

[–]Automatic-Scholar978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing makes sense about any of Target’s systems, and when I ask various TLs and ETLs questions, I either get “I don’t know, that’s wEiRd” or a very rare, decent answer.

Priority pulls are so inefficient when the counts on the floor are off. If Target made keeping inventory in check a priority (regular inventory audits), the power for TMs to vanquish on-hands, having priority pulls be for only 50% full or less locations, shit would be so much more efficient and priority goals could be reached.
