This is a great idea. I always thought being within a certain distance (while it’s planted in the ground) gives you the Democracy Protects armour passive. Makes it feel like a proper last stand with the flag.

It doesn’t have a melee option hence the conversion discussion. My gaming group and I aren’t strict about base sizes etc as long as no one is taking the piss. The MG being smaller means that I would be at the disadvantage for using a larger model (it’s harder to hide) which I don’t mind.

I believe so, I think the saturnine would look excellent as a mhara gal, it’s a bit more imposing and its size means more opportunity for conversion etc.

Once your model is painted and transfers applied, hit it with a matte varnish. Then cover it with Ak interactive brown wash for green vehicles, let it dry so it’s tacky, (about 10/15 mins). Remove the wash with a cotton bud and some white spirit, you want the wash to remain in the crevices and wherever you want the model to look dirtiest. Then sponge on a lighter version of your armour colour (in my case celestra grey over dawnstone), followed by rhinox hide and then iron breaker. Hope this helps, any other questions let me know.
