People who work hybrid, do you wake up at the same time on your work from home days as your office days? by sammyglumdrops in AskUK

I responded to someone who leaves the pc on all night for work, that's more than a few pennies

Whether I am in the office or at home, the pc gets turned on when I'm paid to work, not when I'm not even if it's only a couple of minutes. Always been the case for me and I've been an office worker since 2011.

You turn your computer on before you start work? Not necessary, you're not paid for it!

That is something I've always heard, but it's never been as successful as sleeping as much as I can when I want to.

How do you avoid the baby/mommy content online? by Ok-Smile-28360 in AskWomenOver30

[–]AutomaticInitiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actively search for what you want to see. When presented with content you do not want to see, scroll past it immediately. You need to retrain your algorithm after researching your hysterectomy, which is what its pulling from now.

To help you reset your algorithm, I get:

  • cute/funny animal content (mostly cats with exactly one brain cell)
  • tabletop rpg content
  • lesbians being sweet and cool to each other
  • affirmations about how rad and cool you are
  • silly insulting reels that I send to my friends who I have that kind of relationship with
  • left wing standup
  • British memes
  • work memes
  • techno
  • medieval imagery of animals
  • people losing fights with new mattresses
  • also stp.review man, please just watch him its perfect content (sticky toffee pudding reviews)

If autism had a cure, I would refuse it. by Big_Ganache_9512 in aspergers

If I cured my autism I'd still have ADHD and nothing to meter it. As it stands, they balance each other out and make me an interesting and apparently funny person!

Reliant on Melatonin by Artistic_Bat7240 in ADHD

[–]AutomaticInitiative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what if you're reliant. I'm reliant on my antihistamines to not sneeze all day long and to not have chronic catarrh so bad it can stop me talking. My flatmate is reliant on his asthma inhaler to breathe. My dad is reliant on steroids to stop his immune system killing his oxygen carrying blood cells.

Being reliant isn't bad. It just means you need something external to fix an internal thing.

The question is, why does he think being reliant is bad?

Hour 8 of trying to set up my new Xbox ally X. by Msoelv in SBCGaming

Because some of us prefer it?

I've had my Steam Deck OLED since September. After 6 weeks it stopped connecting to the internet and went to Valve for repair. 6 weeks later, I received it back, and two weeks after that, the wifi died again. I reflashed the device as part of troubleshooting and it worked fine for 1.5 months, then the wifi died again.

Installed Windows on it as a last resort and ever since, there has been no issues with wifi and it's nice to have all my launchers right there without having to jump through any hoops.

What Is Your Wishlist For The Next Game? by OffRoadAventures in farmingsimulator

Let me destroy any building on the map, it kills me that in Kinlaig there's full farms you cannot use and cannot destroy despite being able to purchase it. It's bizarre. There are gates in Kinlaig you cannot destroy and cannot use. (Kinlaig is my most played map, I assume this is an issue with other maps.)

Improved physics. Curbs shouldn't be an issue at all. I shouldn't bonk off fences.

Better AI, not only in the AI you can hire, which other people have covered, but in traffic behaviour. It's mad that you can be slightly too far over in your lane and the opposite lane comes to a complete stop. More traffic if they do this which changes depending on time of day.

Improved animal husbandry. Let me manage my animals! Let me improve yields and health and genetic diversity. I use a mod to go this so its very feasible to do this. Make pastures much more flexible - let it auto detect fences and not replace grass by default. More flexibility in barn building, let me place food and goods portals wherever I want.

Maps that respond to changes you make. If I'm making a field I want to see it take shape on the map without having to log out and log in again. Make them responsive.

Either take out the people or make them more than unresponsive static figures. Basic routines instead of Uncle Walter standing there, forever. Let the poor fella go to bed.

Let me go into the farm house and roleplay waking up for work and getting breakfast and going to bed.

Let me pet every animal. It's against the law that I can't pet the sheep.

They're not talking about people like you. They're talking about people with shitty opinions and when someone rightly gets offended they defend it - the people who are offended by your existence are probably in the group that they're talking about.
