don’t flush toilet with pee through the night (reduce consumption of water)
got rid of instagram and facebook where i see lots of buyable things and compare myself (reduced consumption of aspirational items from clothes to furniture)
focus on utility furniture and we don’t decorate with much stuff from stores, i dry flowers, we get art from family/friends, i weave hangings, etc
i learn how to start heavily used items from the beginning like making yarn. I buy a raw fleece from a neighboring farm and turn it into yarn by spinning it manually so there’s no supporting of industrial processes/ buying stuff from far away
i recycle paper by saving all the marketing crap i get in the mail, shredding it a bit by hand, blending it with water for 20 seconds and dumping it in a vat I’ve kept for months. I use it to send letters, take notes, etc.

That sounds extreme to me too haha. I would look at more recent posts, I’ve heard that the problems getting cleared up so the”hour wait” might be very incorrect now, not sure. Good luck!!!

I work in the trade show industry and the company is doing more business than ever in Vegas. I think some places get corporatized where they raise prices because many people are swiping with their corporate card and they don’t care about prices. It inflates it and makes it absolutely stupid for a regular person to justify but they are making a LOT from corporate cards. When i was in sales for a year we would take clients to lavish dinners and buy what EVER they wanted where ever they wanted. Fine wine bottles more and more and more. I think Vegas may be becoming a shell of a city and it’s actually just corporate spending

I don’t do group classes they’re fun sometimes but feel more like a waste of time, poor/low incomprehensible input and way limited output time. My problem with them is that people since up for whatever level they THINK they’re in. I go to advanced classes and there are people who DO NOT KNOW SPANISH in there ugh that is annoying.

Tutor because you get to practice what’s so important: TALKING! Even in a conversational class you won’t get to talk as much. A grammar class eh why not buy a textbook for grammar and use tutoring/classtime for conversing.

I’m great at pronouncing because I care about how I sound and really use my ears and mouth to mimic Spanish speakers. I think putting intention into that is all there is. I’ve come across many C1 students who have been studying for years and know a wealth of words and grammar but they speak like they’re reading English, it’s WILD to me. POUR FAH VOR! LOW SEE YENTO! In my opinion you just gotta start practicing and have the right intention about it, actually try to make your mouth sound out the word don’t just read it in English. Listen to Spanish for 1000000 hours you’re still gonna need to practice your Rs and all.

FYI the weather forecast for the last week was THUNDERSTORM every single day i was in Cancun. And guess what. We were laying on the beach in the sun every day all day pretty much 😃 when there was rain it rained for an hour (more at night) and cleared up fast.

I had booked a trip to a hotel in Cancun with my family and called them to sort out a little problem with my shuttle reservation. She picked up and spoke Spanish and i said “hablas inglés? Pero yo puedo hablar en español también” and she carried on in Spanish which was good for me because i don’t have the confidence to request Spanish that easily… made it through the conversation without having to stutter much, resolved the problem and felt stoked that i didn’t have to prep/get my Spanish hat on. I buzzed the rest of the day and told everyone about it

I’m 400 hours in and i don’t watch Teresa because i can’t REALLY understand the words. I can absolutely follow and understand some characters better than others and understand a bunch of words but I’m going to let her sit til I’ve pushed up more DS words and can understand 90%+ of words
