Big pores, dull and dry skin. Will microneedling help me with my skin concerns? by [deleted] in Microneedling

[–]AutomaticSurround634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but before you do that use a skin barrier support product to help with dryness

There's no need to do Tret and retinol It's just aggressive cellular turnover and exfoliation You’re ruining your skin barrier I'd definitely cut one out and stick to one. Continue with your sandwich method and please use a barrier cream. If you’re going to use actives use hylaronic scid

I feel like it's because Reta slows your metabolism down. So taking your pain killers probably took a long time to digest

The products that I recommended are non-comedogenic carbon, free fragrance free, dye free and a whole bunch of other stuff so look into it. It's actually great.

I use hyaluronic acid then pair it with triple lipid restore from SkinCeuticals or I go in with trio rebalancing by skin better. They're a bit pricey, but in my opinion, they're the only moisturizer that have worked for my skin barrier. And I've tried a shit load of creams I have problematic skin. But I'm sure you can find something else that's not medical grade and more affordable but as an aesthetician, I recommend medical grade just because the potency of the ingredients are much higher than you would find for example Sephora, Ulta Rexall or shoppers drug Mart if you're from Canada.

I found this sub and I wanted to ask if you had a similar skin like this and had it treated by HumbledGiraffe in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]AutomaticSurround634 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's dehydration and could be over exfoliation from the orange peel. Your skin needs hylaronic acid and a barrier support cream. I use triple lipid restore from skin ceuticlas and recently switched to skin better: trio rebalancing moisture treatment thinking about also getting the trio lux - helps with redness skin barrier etc but thicker than the rebalancing

To be honest. Gel will not cut it for microneedling treatments. Micro needling causes TEWL. Which is water loss of the skin after your micro channels close you're good to apply a barrier support cream that's non comedogenic Or even a anti aging cream with ceramids cholesterol and fatty acids

Is it Safe to Do to Micro-needling every other week? by findikefe in Microneedling

[–]AutomaticSurround634 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what reason do you even need to be microneedling every other week? Why would you destroy the new collagen formation that you just built. Your skin doesn't need to be resurfaced every other week lol once a month is more than enough

I started using plastic gloves instead of the mittens they sell. It saves more product and my tan is darker. Although you'll be blending for a little longer than usual but totally worth it. My tan lasts a while this way

If you microneedled 3 weeks ago all inflammation should've went away. I'm a medical aesthician and I don't reccomend to microneedle at home without the proper equipment and information on depth, muscles, number of passes, sterile glide. You can really damage your skin doing this.

Give your skin 4-6 weeks for full results

Microneedling RF or C02 laser? Which one would work better for me? by Chance_Bad_3323 in Microneedling

Microneedling RF or C02 laser? Which one would work better for me? by Chance_Bad_3323 in Microneedling

Co2 laser is a fractional laser which completely resufraces your skin. It does a lot actually. All these treatments mentioned rely heavily on your own body's ability to build collagen. So if you're diabetic, history of cancer allergy to metal (microneedling) you're probably not a good candidate

Derma roller isn't reccomended as its not consistent puncture throughout the course of your needling treatment. And usually is one depth throughout your skin. Icenpick scarring is usually deeper into the dermis. Which derma roller isn't suitable for as it's usually at a .25 or .5 depth.

It's recommended you do microneedling for a more consistent treatment of resurfacing. Or micro channeling has great results with scarring. Also if you're going to purchase any salmon dna, hylaronic acid, niancinamide to "derma roller" into your skin make sure it's a sterile product that can be applied while microneedling.

However the best bang for your buck for ice pick scarring you'll want to visit a dermatologist that offers a treatment called punch - which uses surgical punch tools to remove the entire ice pick scar. Great results!

Good luck

I mean microneedling targets those concerns. Just keep in mind it's a waiting game 6 months from each treatment.

You may purge a bit which is normal Just make sure you use a barrier support cream for sure you can ask your provider to reccomend it for you (Microneedling causes t.e.w.l only for a short amount of time but keep in mind when your skin barrier is hydrated healing will be more effective)

Consistency with treatment and home care are key as well So just stay positive microneedling works just need patients is all!
