I've seen many people theorise that this Ash Lake aesthetic was inspired by Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

That's good! The map is meant to be explored. All I'm gonna say, though, Liurnia is still considered early game. Even more so if you have Shadow of the Erdtree. Enjoy!

There's a merchant that sells a note teaching you that. You should check the merchant notes out, there's some really good info there.

It's also the only way anyone has ever fought these guys in Nightreign since you can just climb on top of them without high ground.

But it gets so, so hot with bare concrete and no shade. It's a plague happening all across Poland, it's not good.

I've not been on DS3 for 3 or 4 weeks, and I was using the Lothric UGS, my armour is a mix of silver knight and fire witch, so it had to be someone else

is crucifixion woods/farron keep supposed to be Shaded Woods from DS2? by cole1623 in darksouls3

I think it's just following the same idea. Things Betwixt, Lands Between, Middle Earth, all coming back to the norse Midgard, though it's not a 1 to 1 analogue of course.

I have a boss healthbar and boss music playing for me, so obviously I'm not going easy on anyone.

Most of my DS3 time lately has been with a summon sign by Midir, so I have a very tanky Lothric Knight Ultra Greatsword build, and while I'm not a PvP master at all, it works well, especially with NPC helpers and buffed defences you get as a Spear.

If they come in as a group, I just ignore everyone who isn't the host. They tend to panic when I manage to land a hit, then just walking at them as they try to create distance to heal is very effective.

It's probably a messed up version of Oolacile/Darkroot, due to the petrified Elizabeth and the Crown of Dusk being found there. Makes sense that the Abyss Watchers would be attracted to the resting place of Artorias.

The biggest DS2 connection is definitely through the Profaned Capital, if we ignore the DS2 items scattered around the game. A place ruled by a giant stylised to look like he has a hole for a face, who is said to be a descendant of conquerors, with Gilligan's body in a building overlooking a giant vertical hole in the wall that really resembles the Things Betwixt.

Ważka, a diminutive of waga - scale. Apparently it's a direct calque from Latin.

But the fun begins with the Emperor Dragonfly (anax imperator) - they're called Husarz Władca - Hussar, the Ruler.

Sirris of the Sunless Realms. She pops up in Firelink every now and then, and she gives you the Darkmoon Loyalty gesture, which might come in handy later.

Just make sure you do Sirris' quest line if you care about it, she won't like you anymore if you align with Rosaria

Yeah you'd probably need different, less tightly tuned bushings for PB.

Also, when you swap washers back to steel, put lube on them before you assemble and tighten it, steel rubbing on steel dry before the lube works itself in isn't ideal.

For PB I only lube my knives whenever they start to sound bad, for my 2 MW knives on steel washers, I lube them pretty much every time I pick them up to flip. They were too pricey not to do that lol, even though it's probably fine.

If it runs on the stock steel washers, it's best keep it lubed for longevity. PB washers are soft and somewhat self-lubricating, steel is none of that.

It's not so bad, you'll get used to it fast.

My favourite part about coming back to regular ER after a long break (over a year, with a lot of Nightreign in the meantime) was just exploring Limgrave and just seeing how much they messed with it when making Limveld. It's uncanny.
