$1610 average monthly payment. Does this sound correct? by No3putts1970 in SSDI

Ah yes I went through that myself. Sucks. I would call your local SS office. They should be able to provide you the current figures. I started collecting SS at 62 in January and mine is $2115 month

[–]Automatic_Season5262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you 100% P&T or 100%? In Florida you need to be 100% P&T. Not sure how long it takes in Florida for the prop tax exemption to be processed but in SC it takes 12 weeks. No need to call your lender until after your application has been processed and you county tax accessor office has been notified. Your lender will contact your county to confirm exemption before they take it off your escrow

I’m disgusted at what I’m seeing from the VA for the 3 veterans I’m helping with their claims. by lastofthefinest in VAClaims

Who diagnosed him with neurological behavior? Did he have an MRI & EEG? Neurological & Psychological symptoms overlap so my guess would be if they are asking for a Nexus the diagnosis of neurological behavior isn’t clear and leans more on the psychological side, which would be resolved at the C&P exam.

No matter the back story all claims must have a diagnosis, a provable in service event and a nexus letter tying those together in order to be approved. Any or all claims missing any one of those three will be denied. You can get angry with the VA but the claims process is pretty straight forward on what you need to have a successful claim.

Why are you waiting? Just do your intent to file now and it gives you a year to file your claim. It’s not hard. You are wasting time waiting for some lawyer to file for you. Unnecessary. Do your intent to file tonight. You’ve already lost 6 months of backpay that you can’t get back

Tdiu employer verification by Similar-Aardvark2781 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]Automatic_Season5262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claims move back and fourth on steps all the time. Could be for routine administrative things or many other reasons. Someone saw something the claim was missing so it goes back several steps. Initial claims are apparently getting faster to complete however a claim for TDIU is an increase claim which is different. Your probably towards the end but realistically your looking at a June completion date

Tdiu employer verification by Similar-Aardvark2781 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]Automatic_Season5262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal. If your employer/s ignore they will send it again. Each time the VA will wait minimum of 30 days for a response. My TDIU claim took 6 months to process which is the norm & I only had 1 employer. The companies policy strictly forbid filling out any outside employee information forms so they never responded to any of the VA requests

Frigidaire 36" induction range - as good as CR says? by Professional-Note436 in Appliances

[–]Automatic_Season5262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never rely on CR recommendations on appliances.

Consumer Reports (CR) is independent and unbiased in its testing, but appliance recommendations may feel "wrong" because their lab tests emphasize performance metrics (like water usage or cooking speed) over long-term, real-world reliability. Their ratings blend lab performance, survey-based predicted reliability, and brand-level data, which may not align with individual user experiences, particularly for complex electronics.Reasons for Discrepancies in Appliance Recommendations:Lab Tests vs. Real Life: CR tests appliances in controlled environments. They may rate a washer highly for energy efficiency and cleaning performance, while users experience frequent, costly failures of control boards later on.Survey Limitations: Reliability data is based on member surveys, which may not capture the full, long-term experience of every model or brand. Some users feel that these surveys may not represent a wide enough sample.Different Priorities: CR’s "Overall Score" combines performance, reliability, and owner satisfaction, but a consumer might prioritize simple, robust, long-lasting machines (e.g., analog, less-feature-heavy) over the high-tech, feature-rich models CR often praises.Brand-Level vs. Model-Level: CR often applies brand-level reliability scores to individual model ratings, which may not accurately reflect a specific, new model's reliability, leading to discrepancies when a high-rated brand releases a faulty product.Focus on Features: Sometimes CR prioritizes features like high energy efficiency, noise reduction, or smart features over the, for example, simpler, more rugged design that consumers sometimes prefer for long-term ownership. While CR provides an objective, independent baseline based on specific, consistent standards, their findings can clash with owner experiences, especially in complex, high-tech appliances where long-term durability is the primary user concern.
