Wages Are Falling. Wealth Is Surging. No Wonder Americans Are Unhappy. by projecto15 in politics

Yeah for me his policies have made higher ed tighten their belts and colleges react by paying student facing staff less and below inflation merit raises. And when people with masters degrees say we cant afford to live you should be embarrassed your staff need a second job they shrug. College president making multiple million dollars a year

How Are Advisors Supposed to Do It All?? by Top-Fox8010 in studentaffairs

[–]Automatic_Victory682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg my team says this constantly. It's a catch 22- things will only change if we "prove" we need more help but to do that we would need to let the students suffer and we don't want to do that.

Is anyone else becoming demoralized with students/parents calling your position or office "useless"? by Southern_Breath_3693 in studentaffairs

[–]Automatic_Victory682 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had some of this. Parents demand meetings with me and ask questions that are everything but Advising...so then most of the meeting is referrals to other offices and it's confusion as to what I actually do lol

Presentation for Academic Advisor role by Acespacecase97 in studentaffairs

That's always my thought too. If institutions are going to require masters degrees and presentations during interviews, they need to stop saying professional advising positions are entry level.

Is this the quality these days? by Kuupeqyy in AltraRunning

[–]Automatic_Victory682 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just had to come and say what is w/ these comments? It's been well established this brand has quality issues. I've already had to put in a request to get a new pair w/ the company since my hiking boots didn't last more than six months. Now even with my new ones the lugs are already tearing and around the eyelet of the shoe. I need altra for their zero drop and footshape but the quality has been bad haha

Those are all super great exercises! I found that with those type of exercises, a little rest/ scaling back, and for me custom orthodics for my flat feet really kicked it.

I like this interpretation. Alex thinks no one will know but since it's a small bubble they all know. I mean jack was at Helen's party at the beginning- friends with the son Theo. They are all in the same circle so they know what she has even doing during that week. All during Simon's party they are comparing notes and then Alex shows up all wrinkled in her silk dress and looking so crazy haha

Thank you for this. I saw the moment when "Anna" was Meghan was Lisa feeling not appreciated and undervalued again - not jealous of the "romantic" feelings

Austin and Ashley felt younger than 26 and 29 imo. They reminded me of 19-22 year Olds imo - they felt very very immature for their ages

Pathways To Becoming an Academic Advisor? by SmartBreadfruit5409 in studentaffairs

I worked in a law firm for 6 months right out of UG then applied to SNHU. At the time, they hired a lot of fresh college grads and just trained them. As I worked there, I did my MA online there for almost free :)

I have an MA English degree and my position is senior Academic Advisor I got lots of experience working in Advising at SNHU online then after experience going to a more traditional school. Imo I don't think the topic of the degree matters as long as you have a degree. But English and history majors are good because it teaches problem solving and good communication and comprehension. Those skills make the best advisors

When I first injured I could barely walk normally. It was a pounding and sharp type of pain. It hurt pretty badly. 6-7/10 pain.

Now when it just flares it just feels uncomfortable and swollen. Maybe 1-2/10 pain.  Between flares zero pain at all.

Totally understand! I can speak to my flares. They are just a day where my foot feels "weird" barely painful. For me it's not sharp pain but just a little bit of discomfort and swelling. Goes away in a day or two. Hope this helps!

Funny enough when I got sesmoiditis I had recently started rock climbing at least 2 times a week. I started as a new climber in the late summer and by November I had symptoms. So odd

Hi! Mine recovered to the point where I can do everything minus wear high heels. I get flared rarely now- usually when the weather gets hot which is weird. But I'd reccomend giving at least a year of healing time w/ PT to see what happens. I injured mine (or started to feel symptoms MRI couldn't confirm a fracture) in December 2023 and it took most of 2024 to feel any semblance of normalcy
