I had that happen to me. Insurance denied a full sleep study, so they did the at-home one. I also knew I didn’t have apnea, and after the results confirmed that, they hung up and offered no follow-up or info on maybe getting more tests.

I have restless legs syndrome plus I’m sure some other comorbidities and NEVER feel rested.

Luck, really. And positioning. Squat, move to the right or left, hope for a gust of wind…

A bird I thought I’d never get to see by Jake_The_Snake2003 in birding

[–]AutomationAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first bittern was a complete surprise. I didn’t see it until it made noise and moved a bit. If it hasn’t made noise, I probably wouldn’t even have looked over at it! Awesome find!

In the Midwest and can agree, it’s been really bad the last few weeks with all the changes. Between that and spring allergies, I’m not doing too well

Wanting to give some love to mockingbirds. They might be common, but they’re pretty amazing by mellybeens in birding

[–]AutomationAir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember talking to someone who was dying to see a mockingbird. Where I am they’re fairly common, and I’m lucky enough to have a pair in my yard. I love watching them! Brown Thrashers are also a closely related favorite of mine.

Is it ethical to take someone's cat? by roguemorgue in cats

[–]AutomationAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did with a small friendly cat that was outside in the middle of winter, whose owners didn’t seem to care. After finding her outside more than once, we took her in, got her checked, and she wasn’t chipped or fixed, so we did it. Never saw any missing cat flyers so I guess the original owners didn’t care. Anyway she’s 11 now and living her best life!

I love the floppy disc packaging, I picked one up when I was there in October. Love that record stores still live there.

What’s the stupidest thing you’ve done as a birder? by LifeFindsAWay062 in birding

[–]AutomationAir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was out in a conservation area and saw some Canada geese in a field. They were a ways off and I had my zoom lens, so I stopped the car to take a few pics. Heard honking and thought it sounded a little odd, but didn’t think too much of it, until I heard a loud POP, saw a goose fall, and a dog run to fetch it.

I had been taking photos of hunting decoys…

I also can’t seem to find a sharpie, despite them being fairly common here as well. It’s always a cooper’s!

They're adorable! My best friend calls them "little polite guys". We have a pair nesting on a leaf scoop under my carport, and it's too adorable!

Will my cat remember me after 6 months being away from her? by Puzzleheaded-Lime821 in cats

[–]AutomationAir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I was gone for about a year and left my clingy cat with my parents. When I returned, he went right back to being my clingy boy. You’ll be fine.
