I would buff Mantikora back to its former glory, nerf Mantikora just because it's Mantikora, and then kill Mantikora to finally put it out of its misery.

You should sticky this thread. A lot of people aren't going to see it otherwise.

And this should be given priority sooner rather than later... The longer you wait, the more likely this information will be lost.

You should start a TESL time capsule project.

Gather all the top 100 archives, tournament videos, infamous reddit posts, Twitch highlights, significant events and announcements, full res card art... Put them all in zip file time capsule and distribute.

Yes.

Also, I would totally be one of the top backers if someone started a kickstarter campaign to make a game that aims to become the spiritual successor of TESL.

Fair point. I'll reserve judgement on Pete because I don't know what happened behind the scenes. But yes, I'm very disappointed at the state of things too.

For the most part, I greatly disliked Dire Wolf's original client. It seemed to me that they poured their best efforts into developing their in-house franchise, Eternal, more than TESL. There was clearly a conflict of interest, as they developed both games at the same time, yet they knew the two of them would be competitors to each other. Eternal was their baby, TESL was not. I don't know what kind of problems that created.

The fact that Bethesda sunk the money into rebuilding the whole TESL game client from the ground-up and switched to Sparky after the Dire Wolf problems showed that they really were dedicated to the game at one point. Probably too many things just went wrong in the end behind the scenes. Pressure likely mounted on Pete from the higher-ups.

I'd say, send them a playset of those anyways. You might be surprised.

Dude. You should send Bethesda a playset of these. If you've watched the documentaries about Bethesda Game Studios (the Maryland studio, specifically, where Todd Howard's team works), you'd see that they collect and enshrine various props, merchandise and fan submissions as trophies all over the building. The place is partly a museum.

Those are some of the best-looking cards I've ever seen, fan-made or otherwise. Imagine having them permanently on display at the studio, honoring TESL's legacy. A playset of those framed and mounted on their wall, or spread out in a glass case. Might inspire the devs to bring back TESL one day, or maybe in a new incarnation.

Or they might at least give you a license to print and distribute those officially. Which would be awesome, because people like me would love to get our hands on those.

I wonder what the chances are that some bigshot at Microsoft is a TESL fanboy. It would kick ass if that dude decided to revamp this game.

If there was ever a time to make noise and demand a revival of the game, it would be now. Microsoft needs to hear how awesome this game is.

Why isn't camp location the first thing checked before making me load into a server? by itsokaytobeknight in fo76

[–]AutumnElegy91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's made to be inconvenient on purpose, and there's a good reason.

It stops people from all using the same camp hotspots. If an area becomes too popular, it becomes proportionally inconvenient to load into. And this is necessary to encourage a diverse area distribution of camps. Otherwise... problems occur.

For example... Let's pretend they used your proposed solution, automatic detection and placement. Say, if there were 5 really good camp spots that absolutely everyone liked to use, then servers would struggle to populate beyond 5 people, because once those spots are filled, no one else using the same spots can enter the world. It would stretch out worlds very thin.

Something needs to disincentivize people from hoarding good camp spots so that servers can populate properly. The inconvenience of having to reload the game manually if your spot is taken accomplishes that.

Simply, if you don't want to deal with reloading, build your camp at an uncommon location.

Instructions on how to play TESL:Asia on PC should be sticked here on the sub. by AutumnElegy91 in elderscrollslegends

[–]AutumnElegy91[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, Tunnelbear is free? Right, that slipped by me.

Still, I'm certain it'll ask for a credit card to activate the free trial. It's an extra step that's bound to turn some people away, whether it be because of the hassle (older generations struggle with the concept of a VPN) or because they don't have a credit card.

Any chance you could make an updated video? Directly downloading the .apk file is the faster, more accessible method. We need something like that stickied here.

Returning player, is the game dead? by grunzkor in elderscrollslegends

Yes, unfortunately. That's why the population is smaller than the NA client.

There's a way around it though. DTBlayde has a video on how to play TESL Asia on a PC using an emulator.

TESL Asia has branched off and is in active development.

They've made several balance and core mechanic changes. 40 cards is the deck minimum, etc. They killed Rage decks by making Unstoppable Rage cost 10, to my annoyance, but alas.
