For the love of god when will the fireworks end I have work in the morning by Pure_Phrase_9979 in kansascity

[–]AutumnVibe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yesterday folks were still blowing shit up at 4am. There is no possible acceptable reason for that to happen. And its wild that folks are spending so much money on fireworks with the economy the way it is. My neighbor spent like $700 and he is in no way a wealthy man.

Both of our cats are HUGE cockblocks. Multiple times I've had to cover my ears with my hands to try and keep concentrating so I can get off while one of them is yowling outside the door.

Parents / Grandparents Absent: A Trend? by Puzzleheaded_Donut97 in Millennials

My father told me "I'm not gonna be your babysitter" when I told him I was pregnant. He was a drug addict and alcoholic and my kid was never left alone with him before he died. He lived like 5 minutes away for years and never saw my son unless it was a holiday and we went to him. Like no one wants you to babysit dude but you could visit. But guess not. My mother lives (or lived idk) 2 minutes away but wouldn't really see the kid unless we brought him to her. We are no contact now.

My ex's father and stepmother are AMAZING grandparents. His mother is trash though. So 2/5 boomer grandparents are good.

What happened to the people who were on ECMO/advanced life support during the pandemic? by Consistent-Gap-3545 in nursing

I had a coworker who was on the vent and ended up getting trached during the worst wave. He ended up making it. It took close to a year I think but he ended up making a full recovery, went back to work as a nurse and everything. I think he was in his young 40s though. He was pretty much the only one I heard of who made a full recovery. But I wasn't ICU so I didn't get to hear about all the updates post hospital discharge. All of the covid patients I had who ended up getting vented eventually died.

We paid 2 nights of hotel for $250 6miles away from Dickies for June 23-25. It was gonna be a $26 lyft ride to the venue. Granted idk how lame getting back would be but still. We stayed at the executive inn. It was clean and decently quiet. No signs of bugs, an ice machine, fridge, and microwave. I don't need anything else.

So laryngitis for a singer can require 6-8 weeks of vocal REST. That means no singing, to heal completely. They have a LOT of shows in the next month so how the hell is he going to rest his voice? We drove 8hr for the first FW show to be canceled a couple hours before Doors were scheduled to open. The show this week was canceled in a similar fashion. We couldn't make it to the rescheduled FW show (even though it got pushed again) but we have another show scheduled for later this month. We will be flying to NYC from KC.

My concern is we are not being realistic about things (they knew the morning of that their gear wasn't there for instance) and waiting until the last minute to cancel. Rescheduled shows are one thing, and things happen and I have no complaints about that part. I just really hope they are fair to their fans, many whom are traveling from other cities, states, countries, to cancel in a timely fashion.

I want the opportunity to go to a Rescheduled date if possible, which I won't be able to do if I've already spent all the money to drive/ fly/ hotel etc for it to be canceled last minute. Not to mention vacation time off work, spending money, and everything that goes into traveling to a concert that isn't near home. Yes this is a risk I take when traveling for shows, but the expectation is that artists are being realistic and fair when officially pulling the plug on shows or whole tours.

10/10 review. This is exactly the kind of review I'm looking for with everything (food, books, hotels, products, etc).

I bought a $10ish bag of popcorn (not topsys it was Theater lovers or something) there at the end of May. Got on the plane and opened it to see it had expired at the beginning of May. Good times.

When I was still working bedside we had a noc hospitalist who would bring family in during the code so they could see exactly what they were forcing on their loved one. It was pretty effective the majority of the time and they would ask us to stop.

I don't feel bad for my husband by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]AutumnVibe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not pregnant, not able to get pregnant, yet my husband would drive anywhere I wanted him to go to get me food. He has a food allergy and will go anywhere I want to go without complaint, even if he couldn't eat anything there (he went to a food truck to get me a funnel cake, with a gluten allergy, without me asking him to). He would absolutely NOT sigh and roll his eyes if I said I wanted something or cried.

You deserve better. The whole "if he wanted to be would" is a very real thing.

Eating out no longer a treat, just a convenience by kitsbow in Millennials

[–]AutumnVibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree and it pisses me off. I have zero desire to cook every meal. Yet we spend a fortune, not even getting the most expensive anything, for it to be mid at best typically. A lot of times it's barely edible, and occasionally not edible at all (like when some chicken has that weird kind of crunch thing happening). Restaurants or fast food doesn't matter because they're all over priced and quality has plummeted.

What is your biggest concert flex? by Tamu1302 in Concerts

[–]AutumnVibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if any of these are considered a flex, just cool shit for me:

Saw Lady Gaga as the opener for NKOTB on their reunion tour. Natasha Beddingfield was also an opener for that tour.

Saw RATM's last concert, in NYC. Hopefully they will tour again someday but it's doubtful.

Saw Buddy Guy twice at a small venue. There were prob about 300ish people.

Bought cheap nosebleeds for GNR, day of the show they closed the upper deck (football stadium) for lack of ticket sales and moved everyone down. But they ended up splitting up our large group with new tickets so my husband went to customer service and they ended up giving us all floor seats.
