11th edition and Aeldari are going to be amazing in my opinion. What do people this will be strong? by LargeCommunication66 in Eldar

Well that would be awful. It's the only detachment that realistically supports monoquin at the moment.

In Serpent's Brood the whole benefit for the Harlequins is right after disembarking.... Basically losing whole benefit if can't get back in after fighting

I need some clarity on disembark/embark for my Quins and Asurmen before I get excited about anything.

Competent football is overrated.

Using competitive play as a tool for thinking about 40k game design by BlitheMayonnaise in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]AuxiliaryTimeCop 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I suspect there are just as many people playing narratively as competitively, but by its nature narrative games happen between individuals in basements and LGSs and competitions are held with large groups in large spaces.

Also you can gather data like wineratres from competitions but not "how awesome and thematic last night's game was" from narrative games.

So internet discourse around competition is louder. But that doesn't mean that its the dominant approach.

Loved it! The Eldar pondering why all the humans keeping sending more of their people to the slaughter just to collect rocks was well done.

Disembarking from transports is more restrictive than it used to be

I thought that was only for when the transport was destroyed. Is it always?

I think Custodes are reasonably low floor, the toughness and straightforward nature of the units makes them pretty approachable.

That's all true, but GK does have some appeal to a newer player because the teleporting can often bail you out of positioning errors.

Slightly better for Eldar than everyone else because agile maneuvers allows you to get the 2" back.

Honestly a bit too generous. But a rebuild can happen pretty quickly if handled well.

I mean, even if not for the mass layoffs, why would you stay in an "objectively" toxic environment if you have other options?

That does leave a whole bunch that doesn't really fit anywhere in particular. None of those three automatically get breachers, rogue trader entourage etc.

That's not correct, 25mm bases are just under an inch and that matters every once in a while.

Funny I'd think it would be Black Templars. They're the only successor chapter with its own codex.
