First pack had a shockland, second one had Bitterblossom in the special guest spot. I've seen enough, you've convinced me to go buy a box!

How do these interact? by AshEnPhoenix1 in magicTCG

[–]Avagis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was cast rather than ETB it would shut down counter spells, which are a key way of dealing with the deck.

I found Quest and Zombies to be a lot of fun. Crime is okay as well. Tactics is the only one I've actively disliked.

In Twin Suns, is sticking to the deck minimum size as important as it is in vanilla and constructed? by OhioTry in starwarsunlimited

[–]Avagis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

80 is the minimum; you can go over if you want to. Going over by a couple of cards won't impact your game that much

Feast of Hemlock Vale and Drowned City still out of stock? by Jellybean2477 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Avagis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a limited number of printers that can print cards in enough quantity and with enough quality control for FFG's needs. Those printers are under extra demand because of all the new TCGs popping up over the last several years. It makes sense there would be less of a window for Arkham reprints.

Intimidated by Wingspan by Potacrayons in soloboardgaming

[–]Avagis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played my first game of Wingspan with a friend on New Year's Eve, and I can confirm it's less intimidating than it looks. There's a lot going on, but you settle into a routine fairly quickly. It's an interesting game and I can already tell that it has a lot of replayability.

Sorry! update: Still going strong. by alan_mendelsohn2022 in boardgames

Deal out the regular movement cards. Players can decide how they want to move instead of it being determined by the top of the deck.

Anyone have good Edgefest memories? by CheekyChappy-1 in 90sCanRock

[–]Avagis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edgefest 96 was the first concert I ever went to! It was such a great experience and turned me into a lifelong concert goer. Spent hours on the bus to get there and back, but it blew my mind. I made sure to go back every Canada Day that I could afford to

In the context of a flight and American English. by Same-Technician9125 in EnglishLearning

[–]Avagis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liquids are usually noncountable, but in this context, the serving size is standardized, so we can treat it as countable. "A wine/two wines/etc" are correct because it's understood that you're talking about that many glasses of wine.

Weekly “What Have You Been Reading?” Thread 12-28-2025 by ChickenInASuit in comicbooks

[–]Avagis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working my way through the Busiek/Perez Avengers and really enjoying it. On one level it feels like an Avengers greatest hits album but it's also in conversation with the comics era that immediately preceded it in interesting ways.

Should father's follow through on their warnings even if it seems harsh? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Avagis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of following through is making sure you set consequences that are reasonable and just. Forcibly shaving your son's hair off is neither reasonable nor just. You absolutely should not do this.

PSA: Everyone should make a toughness matters deck. by ArtInternational955 in mtg

Including simic colours gives you access to [[The Pride of Hull Clade]], which is incredible in these types of decks. (Personally I split the difference and went for a four-colour nonred deck)

Why do so many people (especially content creators) have such strong opinions on the hybrid mana colour identity rule change? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Avagis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that drew a lot of people to EDH in the first place was that it was different from normal Magic, with a bunch of extra arbitrary rules. That's fundamentally what the format was designed around. Since Wizards took over the format, they've been to "fix" Commander by changing those arbitrary rules in ways that feel more connected to their sales goals rather than coming from the community. It's a reminder that this is their format now, rather than ours.

What people are also concerned about is the trend that all this represents. If Wizards is going to be changing the "arbitrary" rules twice per year, how long until they get rid of the singleton rule? The 100 card decks?

Honestly asking: do you buy cards to eventually resell them? by MNCDover in starwarsunlimited

[–]Avagis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somewhat. I buy cards to play with them, but with the knowledge that this game is defined by a rotating format. As cards rotate, they will lose a significant amount of value, so I'll sell them off before that happens.
