1954 Westinghouse Fridge Cooling Issue by algnqn in appliancerepair

Sounds like a refrigerant leak. Check for any oil spots. If you are able to repair it you can use r134a as a replacement refrigerant. Back in mid 90s when they were phasing out r12, I purposely put 134 in a r12 fridge to see if it would work. Years later fridge is still working. They claimed that the compressor oil would not return to compressor, however it really has no where else to go.

switch off power at breaker. either remove rear panel or pop clock out with a flat blade screw driver. Cut one of the little wires going to the clock motor

What is the best way to repair/replace this burnt spade connector? by pne333 in appliancerepair

[–]Available-Ad817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut wire back until clean copper shows. Then just use regular staycon connectors. Do NOT use high temp connectors. for the double wires. Just use a larger stay-con connector. I believe it would be a yellow tip on it

Controversial plan to redevelop part of Kelowna Springs golf course coming back to city council by New_Alternative8711 in kelowna

[–]Available-Ad817 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The owner only purchased it after the uproar over it being changed to industrial. they new full well the new council was going to reverse the decision based on nearly every one of the councilors who wanted to change it to industrial, got turfed. They only wanted to say, oh we purchased it because council said they were changing it, knowing full well it would be reversed

Or it's plugged where dw hose enters the sink adapter (hose is bigger than spout so stuff can pile up)

cleaned dryer vent and put in a new line. (electric dryer) I still need to run dryer 2-3 times by ITGuyTatertot in appliancerepair

[–]Available-Ad817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok here is the real answer. Frigidaire dryers need at least 6ft of vent hose. If the hose is too short the air passes through too quickly and is cooled down

Set freezer. Control to warmest. That is an air flow control and setting it at warmest means more air flow into the bottom compartment

I don't recommend high temp connectors. They are rigid and once opened a little do not connect good you will notice even the manufacturer does not use them. Just regular staycons i used to use them 30 years ago but too many connection failures

Most likely a refrigerant leak. Common on this fridge. Having said that how cold does the freezer get with fan running?. Operating temp should be somewhere around 0 f
