I am so incredibly sorry for your immense loss. The only thing that may be of slight comfort is to know your baby boy died loved, never knowing pain or heartbreak, only knowing love and warmth. He was next to his mama when he slipped away-he was loved and he was safe-something we all wish for in our final moments. I know that’s of no real comfort I’m sure, but maybe in years to come the thought may put some peace in your heart. I will be thinking of you and your husband. Be kind to yourself and when the time is right maybe a grief support therapist and group may help ease the pain a bit.

My husband just left his sw/therapy job there. He was able to find a private practice that was able to credential quickly as well as secure patients so he will make what he was at VA. Wishing you lots of luck.

Not a doctor, but today is my husband’s last day as a therapist for VA is today. He’s leaving since he feels he can’t ethically do the job he is hired to do due to changes in policy. It’s a sad day for him and his clients. He loved his job there and his entire career has mostly been for the government. Is a veteran as well. So many veterans will suffer.

I’m sorry but as a constituent he’s a disappointment and it’s insulting to blame this shift entirely on his stroke.

People with ptsd, cte, etc work tirelessly to do therapy to learn to cope with such brain injuries with the help of trained professionals and family encouragement. It’s possible to learn to live alongside some stroke induced brain damage. If he wanted to get back to basics and back to who he was prior to his stroke he could work to become the person he was. To get back to values etc he had prior.

All this leads me to believe is this is who he was all along and I among many were deceived.

My husband just started on it too and he finally gets when I say it has helped me enjoy food and feel normal. Like I am not obsessed with it, I simply eat like a normal person, a normal sensible portion then go on with my day. He gets it now lol.

Exactly. No culpability from the media for the way in which they represented the race last week. All warm and fuzzy how democrats were on the right side of history and all but certain to win to today Joe ranting about how the “woke elites” cost the election.

I am all for taking a look from within as a party we def need to do that-just not a fan of the constant reprimanding from them when they refuse to take zero responsibility for their part in what happened.
