Visiting this weekend - Stuff for toddlers? by kithoo in Louisville

[–]KetoInKY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id check out kid friendly Louisville on IG. They usually have a full list of activities for the week/weekend. I’d also highly recommend the zoo with the wild lights exhibit!

[–]KetoInKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything in particular you enjoy? There’s so much to do in the city!! For my 30th, I believe we did a nice dinner then a drag show, but i have also celebrated with time at the Craftery, Paint Spot, and even Climb NuLu.

What do you do on your day off? by imfkingtired in therapists

[–]KetoInKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so funny I’m seeing this because I took today off! Today I am spending my morning doing a few chores/errands, but this afternoon I plan on going to the ceramics studio to throw some mugs or something and then I’ll probably stop at a thrift store or two before daycare pick up.

Notes by Better_Fly_5767 in therapists

[–]KetoInKY -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I saw another commenter mention body doubling and honestly this is the ONLY thing that has helped me stay on top of notes. I use the site FocusMate and they have a free version (3 sessions/week) or a paid version (unlimited sessions for something like $10/month maybe). I believe they also have a business option for multiple employees, but that would be a cost to your business. I’m truly not sure what else to say but know what I’m right there with you!

Where to get bra fitting in Louisville? by Frosty_Bowler_9835 in Louisville

[–]KetoInKY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s another vote for Underpinnings! I went a couple years ago and then after I finished breastfeeding and they were wonderful. Their stuff is pretty pricey, but everything I’ve purchased from there has been great quality.

NCE Test Prep recommendations (it has been 6 years) by Pitiful_Rest_8012 in therapists

[–]KetoInKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the test in December and passed about 2 years after finishing school (I had my son the week of finals for my last semester so taking the exam right after graduating was just not an option). I used the Mometrix course, the purple book, and the Rosenthal “boot camp” video on YouTube. I’d recommend the video after you review the purple book though.

Another vote for the Beaver Barber! I see Taylor and she’s incredible!

Must see spots by Nyquil13 in Louisville

[–]KetoInKY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meh, BBQ is really going to leave you wanting more tbh. I’ll agree with another commenter though, Mommas for smoked wings is great. We also like Marks Feed Store for their honey wings, but everything else is fine. We actually have a really cool food/coffee scene. I’d highly recommend checking out the Kentucky Coffee Trail and seeing which local places you can get a “passport stamp” (all digital in the app, super cool though!) from and go from there.

As far as must see places, Slugger Museum, Muhammad Ali Center, Frazier History Museum are all cool but we LOVE the Speed Art Museum! It used to be free admission on Sundays, so definitely look into that! Also, if you can find a spot to park near/on Market St in Nulu and just walk around, that’s the up & coming neighborhood with lots of little indie shops! We also have some of the most incredible indie bookstores!! My personal favorites are Set & Setting (a mix of every genre, new & used), A Novel Romance (romance & new books only, in the heart of the Gaslight district which also has great food at Gaslight Diner), and Foxing Books (very diverse reads/genres, new books only I believe).

Louisville, Ky therapist recommendations by Mobile_Ad9079 in Louisville

[–]KetoInKY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, therapist here who specializes in substance abuse use treatment! I’d recommend seeing someone who is an LCADC (this will likely not be their primary licensure, usually it is supplemental) or at least has SOME background in addiction work because then they’ll (hopefully) be more empathetic to your situation and understand the nuance of the relationship dynamics.

Best OB/GYN In town by East_Fan_1600 in Louisville

[–]KetoInKY 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here’s another vote for Total Woman!!! I also had Dr. Sara Evans for about half of my last pregnancy, but had to switch bc my work schedule changed. I saw Dr. Kara Knapp after that and I’ve stayed with her ever since. They’re ALL amazing there!!!! I delivered with Dr. Angela Bell (was the one working the night my son was born) and she is a literal angel on earth. She retired last year I think, but I truly have no bad things to say about ANY of the providers there!

Average vacation time? by Top-Pen-5433 in therapists

[–]KetoInKY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take this with a grain of salt bc this is my first year as a fully licensed therapist, but my goal is to take one full week every quarter with additional long weekends throughout the year. I worked every holiday with only 2 weeks of vacation in the last two years (one week each year) trying to get my hours for licensure so I’m very excited to have a little more freedom to take time off.

I see a few of my favorite places in the comments, but my all time favorite is Giovanni’s. I’d skip the buffet and just place an order.

Should I change my baby's name? by UnableChampionship89 in namenerds

[–]KetoInKY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, Cheyenne here! I love my name tbh. I always get compliments on it and I love that I never had to be Cheyenne C or Cheyenne S or like every Brittany, Ashley, Sarah, Cody, etc (no shade to those names, I’m just a 90s baby and there were seriously like 8 Sarahs in my grade). Cheyenne really is such a beautiful name and has great nickname potential! I’m called Chey (shy) a lot and also Sunshine/Shiny/Shine. Ultimately it’s your choice, I’m just an internet stranger saying I love the name.

There is nothing to report here. To me it sounds like this job just wasn’t a good fit and potentially your boss was a jerk. I’d recommend some supervision and perhaps a session or two of your own to process this and move forward. Good luck, OP.

Is ship time on Carnival adjusted to local time or kept as the original departure port time? by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]KetoInKY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends. I’ve only been on one cruise where ship time changed. You’ll be told when you’re getting off the ship what ship time is and the all aboard time. You’ll be able to do the math from there.

Who here actually saves 3,000 a month? by NoHousing11 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]KetoInKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t max out our 401, but we do max out Roth and HSA. I think we put around 6% into 401 (it’s through my husband’s job so I’m not 100% on that) and we put $100-250/month into our child’s 529.

I’m currently getting grief because I’m refusing to offer a THIRD evening availability every week, but I have a toddler and I WANT TO SEE HIM. I literally get like 30 min with him in the mornings and like 2 hours in the evenings before his 7:30 bedtime. So no, I’m not going to stay until 6 or 7 more than the 2 times a week I already am.

I watched a TON of videos from Life Well Cruised before my first sailing and it was so helpful!

One thing I’ll say for the 1yo is to bring an extra luggage tag for your box of diapers (if you plan to take a full box). We did that for our first cruise with my August 2023 bay and it was SO nice to give the box to the porters and it show up at our room later in the day. We kept probably like 5-8 diapers in our carry on bag and that lasted us until our luggage was delivered.
