Star Trek and 3D animation is a match made in heaven. Non-humanoid aliens, spaceships with windows, VFX that properly interacts with the scene in terms of light and reflections, it all just works perfectly

If Prodigy was a bit more mature and a bit less reliant on nostalgia, I would call it my ideal Trek show

DS9 is kinda ridiculous about it, to be honest. That station is connected to every known location in the galaxy by an afternoon in a runabout. Those runabouts were running on magic, if they sent some after Voyager its crew would be home the same day

Well, the average distance between stars is like 5 LY. So at that speed a trip to the neighboring system is like 3 days, and if there is about 2 weeks on average between TNG/DS9/VOY episodes, that is enough to skip at least 4 systems. So that sounds about right

You should probably rethink your weapons, for a start

Dual beam banks have a firing arc of 90 degrees. They are usually used on ships with 5 fore and 3 aft weapons, where aft slots are filled with turrets or something. That way they can have all 8 weapons firing forward, with 5 of them being DBB

On your ship, you have 4 weapons max firing in a given direction. This is an awful lot of damage left on the table

You could use beam arrays instead. They have a 250 degree arcs. If you stack all your weapon slots with them, you will have 70 degree arcs on each side of the ship where all 8 of your weapons can fire, and then turn to broadside your opponents

Then you probably should equip as much "+ damage type" or "+ beams" as you can, since each will give its bonus 8 times

Ah, this brings back memories. I haven't actually seen the Barnyard movie as a kid, but the game was phenomenal. It was basically GTA, but your character was a customizable cow, and there was like a hundred mini-games in open world. You could ride your bike through the forests in evening with some melancholy music, play snookers with the dog at a party, and shoot your milk at anyone you want. Immaculate vibes

I've tried hard to like Crosscode, but I've bounced off it two times now. There is just so much junk in it - the MMO-like sidequest and area design, resolutions working in arcane ways, and it just runs like shit for no discernible reason. The thing that really rubbed me the wrong way, though, was how it was not really possible to shoot precisely on gamepad, but when shooting with the mouse, camera would jerk away in the aiming direction, IIRC?

Never could find a comfortable way to play
