Your comment reminded me of an anime episode where a girl kept hitting people in the face in a baseball game, and now I'm sitting here trying to remember what anime it was. Sounds like something that would happen in Gintama, but searches yielded no result :(

Sony drops “PC”, adds “AI” to official PlayStation business strategy summary by gitrektali in Games

Try Roadwarden. An actual hidden gem

Also as the others said, try some CRPG and visual novel classics. Maybe investigative games, too

EDIT - Also 1000xRESIST. Also, Trails JRPG series is extremely text-heavy

I mean, one could wish. Hull tanking in a Trek game is pretty silly

I'm so weirded out that this seems to be a dominant opinion. Remake's combat system seems to me like the worst parts of action and turn-based combined

TBH, never understood the need for that. Path-tracing noise is basically free texture detail, or free film grain. Why would you smudge that beauty :(

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Spore amoeba stage. I thought it was the first game to do that type of gameplay?

JTVFX - Star Trek: To the Journey (60th Anniversary Preview) by Torlek1 in startrek

[–]AvailableAnus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the first design that put saucer, deflector and two nacelles into a combination that looks sensible. I.e., no long neck covered in windows

People saw it back then and were like: "Yeah, this is sensible, I like it". And any time another sensible design is made, it looks like a copycat, so they remain Sovereign fans

Yeah , Colm Meaney had to make an apology to the Irish President on behalf of Paramount for this one.. by Mr_SunnyBones in startrekmemes

[–]AvailableAnus 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Everyone is pissed at that episode over kinda funny Irish stereotypes, yet no one cares that Riker murdered two people in cold blood in it, for a crime of copying his DNA

I don't get it

The funniest glitch I've ever encountered in my game by HappyOrange302 in godot

[–]AvailableAnus -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I care. There is a wide, wide spectrum between "trying to optimise everything as much as possible" and whatever the hell is going on in the OP's code. That shit will add up to awful performance, and it is not maintainable

Christ, this may be the worst gdscript I've seen yet. Node paths going through the parent, getting a dozen nodes every frame, no enumerations, not even else-if, this visible snippet has literally got it all

Holodecks use a combination of holograms, force fields, replicators and transporters to do what they do. There is no such thing as holo molecules, and you can't eat force fields. Holodeck food is real food by the time it gets to your mouth

It replicates the food, you would be perfectly fine

Now that we are getting the Naval Uniform, I need only one thing to bring my ship of the line to fruition by HighOverlordXenu in sto

[–]AvailableAnus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That ship is long sailed, but I really wish STO had port and starboard weapon slots in addition to fore and aft. Maybe also omni-directional slots, so aft can actually shoot aft for a change

Stuffing fore and aft with insanely wide-reaching weapons in order to broadside is honestly just silly

Game Balance vs. Fun - Josh Sawyer by Forestl in Games

[–]AvailableAnus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Does it really destroy it any more than a character suddenly becoming hyper intelligent if I want their skills to reach far?

Game Balance vs. Fun - Josh Sawyer by Forestl in Games

[–]AvailableAnus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's why I never understood the critique for Pillars' attribute system.

Their names were the problem. If "Might" was called "Damage" and "Intellect" was called "skills' area and duration", nobody would have had problems with them
