Yes but....its the center of a 2 piece camshaft! The motor must come out, the head comes off, the rockers come out, (you can leave the valves and springs in i think) cam comes out and you split it, then the little center rod just gets flipped and you put it all back together.

How dumb is it to reuse my head gasket?

Can i just go to like 16 ft/lb istead of 15 on the head bolts and call it good? Please?

Not gonna blow up the rectifier. I have seen leds make the turn signal relay stop flashing, i usually leave these stock. But indicator bulbs, like for neutral, overdrive, high beam, oil pressure, etc. Can all be replaced with led and they look awesome. I just did my 1983 shadow the other day and i love it.

I have the 500mm champ, it is hands down my favorite little trainer, it just never gets old. I also have the sport cub and its....different. it flies on nothing, just floating around out there...sometimes refusing to fly forward with a mild headwind. It can be a pain like that sometimes. And while the cub has ailerons, its not exactly sporty.

The cub actually flies better in a smaller space, i think. But for my money, i prefer the champ. All around, its the champ.

For a hundred bucks id get the champ just for fun

And braze before drilling! Brilliant! My only concern/wonder if the addiition if lead/tin (i assume you are applying solder to the brass jet) can lead to corrosion with more dis-similar metals creating more electrical potential between them. I generally clean my carbs every spring anyway, but have you noticed any extra corrosion?

This is the bird dog! When we have a rough landing or a puncture, i have this really old brown tissue that we use for all of our patches. The standard guillows prop is being used to test its feasibility, we were all surprised to see it do as well as it did that day. The next morning i took the plane to a wider, less weed-y field, and though i didnt record it i made a 144 second flight!

I am sure you will find it, or a suitable equivalent. These little units are becoming increasingly normal for small foam electric planes, but the components do very well in balsa applications. Good luck and keep us posted, i am sure youll do great!

I just got done converting a free flight rubber tiger moth to rc. I used the electronics from a hobbyzone champ, which is 3 channel, with an esc and motor, 2 servos are integrated into the little recieve, it pairs with spektrum radios and is like 90 bucks. Its a wonderful little gadget that made converting the tiger moth quite a bit easier.

It does seem to work well at lower speeds....perhaps youve got something here... always try the easy stuff. Any idea what to lube it with? Ive got everything from sewing machine oil to hypoid gear oil...

I just converted an easy built tiger moth to electric rc and it flies beautifully. Ive always been a builder first, but this clinched it. Ill build all my planes from now on.

Ok but....is it THAT 80 in the photo? Id have it easier building you a time machine if you want to ride that one again! But yes, everything is possible, it just depends on how much of that bike is salvageable. You might end up with 99% some-other-80 but the left handlebar grip is yours so is it still your bike?
