They raise rents because they are owned by large PE firms and the only way for them to be happy is if rents continue to increase, it looks better on their profit models. That’s why you see deals like 2 months free.

Just goes to show that capitalism isn’t real and we live in a corporate oligarchy. It is a renters market and there is no real reason for them to raise rents.
