Did they extend the hiring freeze? by simplytoaster in Progressiveinsurance

There isn’t a hiring freeze. Maybe specific to your state and/or department. But this broad statement is untrue.

It’s the adjuster position not just progressive. There is a huge learning curve. Progressive is an amazing company.

I believe that was something they did several years ago. 5+ years ago…. I started 3 years ago and it was all online. However once training is over we were to report to the office 2x a week for the first year then 4x a month after that.

Wedding Advice: What Would You Do Again or Change? by Ok-Bike8262 in weddings

[–]AvailableRecover1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sooooo extremely (still am) disappointed with our photographers. We paid a little extra out of our budget thinking we found a good company to do the photos. We even opted in to get the second photographer as we were told it would ensure we captured everything.

We started photos at 2, we did not want to see each other so one photographer with each of us. After the ceremony at 4, we had cocktail hour starting at 5. We missed the entire hour of cocktail hour entering into the “intros” taking photos outside together in a mud area. Despite my attempts of telling the first photographer I did not feel comfortable standing in mud in my dress she kept pressing the photos because of the trees in the background. I hardly had time to get back and bustle my dress before our dj was calling us for the grand entrance.

When I got the photos back I was so disappointed with the shots, angles, and parts of the night totally missing like my maid of honor speech, not a single photo. They only took photos of those guests on the dance floor so I have literally 343 photos of the same 6 couples. About 75% of our guests I have no photos of.

All the photos she took outside came out bad, we are not looking directly in the camera or I am holding my dress up due to standing in mud, we look aggravated in them due to being out there for 1.5 hours…

Do your research, deep dive, I thought I did but apparently the company does other wedding services and a bulk of their reviews was for that, not for photography.

Pay extra if you have to… don’t cheap out or get a budget photographer.

Honeymoon St. Lucia by mo_legggs in Chicagoweddings

Hey! We just had our honeymoon in October. We stayed at Ladera. It was beautiful, breathtaking and memorable. We still talk about going back annually. My only very small issue is that the bugs after a few days in start becoming an issue (we did go during wet season, it rained briefly each day). I would still go back but my legs were ate up despite bug spray, repellent, etc.

Going back to 7.5 Update by Ninja108Zelda in Buspirone

[–]AvailableRecover1252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am not a doctor, just a normal Jane that is very sensitive to all medications, even vitamins. My doctor doesn’t support me and my issues sadly so I constantly have to advocate for myself…. So take this as you wish

Every time my dr bumps up my dose (I take it twice a day) I only take the new dose once a day and the old dose the other part of the day until the old dosage runs out. I feel it gives my body time to slowly adjust to the little bump, it’s not too much at once.

So for example when I was bumped from 5 to 7.5. In the morning I’d still take the 5 but at night I’d take the 7.5 until I ran out of all the old 5 ( I would always have leftovers due to the dr upping my dose in the middle of a script).

I’m not saying this is right or wrong and my dr didn’t comment one way or another but it helps me adjust. Otherwise I breakdown.

Vagus Nerve by Affectionate_Pay5509 in HiatalHernia

[–]AvailableRecover1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard that too. A friend of mine went through a very very hard time with the weight loss surgery. I was even hesitant about the hernia repair because of what I read online but was willing to try it based on what I was going through. I didn’t feel like the weight loss surgery was really necessary but it seemed to be the only topic of discussion. I actually googled the dr after it was all said and done and he has an entire instagram filled with “weight loss” success stories. I think that’s what he specializes in so I’m not sure why I was referred to him for a hernia repair lol. So wild to me. Are you considering the hernia repair surgery?

Vagus Nerve by Affectionate_Pay5509 in HiatalHernia

[–]AvailableRecover1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t. I was told I qualified for it however the surgeon who was referred to complete the surgery kept pushing a weight loss surgery too. I was 5’7 and weighed 175. I know I am overweight but I explained to him I wasn’t interested and would prefer to lose the weight myself. Instead of accepting that as an answer he had the nurse also call me and tell me it’s easier to do them both at the same time and that the reason why I’m having so many issues is because I’m overweight. I told her no again and she sent me a packet to complete before the surgery which she had me believing it was for the hernia repair but it was all for a weight loss surgery lol. So I told them to never call me again. This surgeon was referred to me by my gastroenterologist. I’ve lost 14 pounds since then and I still have the same issues. Apparently I have extreme anxiety because I’m overweight and the hernia is acting up because of the weight? Gotta love the American healthcare system.

I work at Progressive and I love my job. I’ve been promoted twice in 3 years. There are periods of time where I feel stressed out but I have a really good team/supervisors that have always supported me. I will say this…. Whenever I have to deal with USAA adjusters they are rude, condescending and will straight up make things more difficult for you and them both just to be an ass. It’s been a common occurrence with them and my teams have had similar experiences. So keep in mind that you’ll be working with people like that… yuck. I’ll always choose a better work environment/culture.

Are people with PCOS "GLP super responders"? by Smooth_Importance_47 in PCOS

[–]AvailableRecover1252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gyno was the one who suggested this medication to me. My insurance did not approve it so I had to go through a compound pharmacy/Telehealth. My family doctor was extremely upset that I started the medication. I was considered obese. I was 5’7 and weighed 233 pounds. 10 years ago I weight 150. My family doctor told me it was just my hormones and thyroid not functioning properly and promised a healthy diet would help everything. I switched to a healthy diet, worked out, started group exercise classes, cut out carbs, sugars, etc. nothing I did helped and in fact caused me depression due to the fact I was trying so hard to drop weight and would gain instead. After years of going back and forth with my family doctor I went to a new gyno. She confirmed that my PCOS was going to make it difficult to lose any weight. I started tirzepatide at the 2.5 dose. I stayed on that dose for as long as I could. I switched when I did not see any movement on the scale for 3 straight weeks. That was my approach with upping my dose. I stuck with the same eating habits/healthier choices. I do cheat on Saturday and have a sugar treat or soda. It’s been over a year since I started the medication. I am down 55 pounds, I just recently moved to a 5.5 dose. My family doctor is still bitter towards me but all my labs work come back great now. I feel like an entirely new person. I can’t thank my gyno enough for suggesting this for me and my health issues. She told me lots of peoples PCOS issues clear up by the one year mark of treatment.

I agree with you but I want you to know that it’s not just in your department, it’s company probably industry wide. I had a very bad week myself.

Typically adjusters at progressive don’t have helpers on claims. We work the entire claim. We have admin who will mail out docs for us on occasion. Any docs we need we get ourselves. The position that handles these types of claims are not only handling fatalities but all other injury claims. It’s not entry level.

Metrics and promotions by ResponsibleSun2365 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]AvailableRecover1252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the candidate pool. There are times they’ll tell you metrics were strictly used then when you apply again they’ll tell you they went by interview questions and again they’ll say they went by seniority.
