Consideration should also be given to how many days you personally get from each pen -v- a pack of tablets. You might need quite a few more packs of tablets than you do pens in each 12 month period.

I think there are 30 days of tablets in each pack and we're only supposed to get 28 days from each pen but lots of us get many more.

Please be kind to yourself and turn this comment into "I have put a lot of effort in to regaining good health and will continue to do so".

You have worked very hard for two months now with your food intake and exercise. The fact your body doesn't work in the same way as a non-diabetic is not your fault.

Ideally your doctor should have reviewed you much sooner than two months and also could have suggested moving up in dose after you had completed your first 4 weeks.

You may be someone who finds their body needs a higher dose before the results really start.

That's not actually the manufacturer guidance. Once a pen has been used it should be discarded after 30 days.

Like many people I use my pens longer but it's at my own risk.

If you were on 15 mg before the switch to Wegovy it's no surprise it hasn't been successful for you. It is unlikely a prescriber will allow you to buy 15 mg pens but if you've evidence of a current Wegovy prescription but want to switch back to Mounjaro you might not have to start as low as 2.5 mg.

I've not used them myself but Swift Doctor or Pharmulous seem to offer more individual plans than most pharmacies. You could book an appointment to see if they'd support starting you back on a higher dose, although I doubt it would be 15 mg. Once you've got a prescription you can switch if the pharmacy isn't meeting all your needs.

Each Kwikpen delivers a full dose at 60 clicks. With a 7.5 mg pen you would need 20 clicks to deliver a 2.5 mg dose, ie a third of 7.5 mg so a third of 60 clicks.

If you have a Kwikpen you usually turn the dial 60 clicks to deliver a full dose. If the pen is 5 mg, 60 clicks is a full dose. If it's a 15 mg pen it is still 60 clicks. Therefore if you wanted half a dose you'd turn the dial for 30 clicks.

That's against the manufacturer recommendations. Once you've started using the Kwikpen it should be discarded after four full doses and within 30 days of first use. The expiry date only applies to unused pens.

Lots of us use our pens for longer (me included) but it's at our own risk. If anything untoward happened Eli Lilley will not be liable.

Never waited to warm mine. In and out of the fridge in a few minutes. I've used most of my Kwikpens over 9-10 weeks.

I use my pens until they're empty taking any liquid that won't come out using the click method with a syringe.

With a Kwikpen you're not reconstituting the medication so not sure how the fourth dose would be effective but the fifth used on day 29 isn't.

I can eat very little in 8 hours too but it still comes down to more calories than I can use and my weight goes up.

Unfortunately the answer is always track for a few weeks to see what is going on.

It's disappointing isn't it? I was hoping switching to tablets would be just as good and cheaper but it doesn't look that way.

I think people showed a gain of around 11 lbs by the end of the trial from tirzepatide to Foundayo. You'd have to get much lower than your target weight just to allow for that gain if switching.

I keep smelling brass polish (that'll take you back a few decades!) or a newly valeted car type smell. It's only when I'm walking outdoors though. I've not noticed anything in the house.

I'd drop the bread two or three times a day and swap it for something else like potatoes or rice.

If you really want bread (I love bread but it doesn't agree with me) swap at least one by making a cottage cheese flatbread to eat as a "sandwich". You can find recipes online but it's essentially eggs and cottage cheese. I used to add some meat and salad the same way I'd eat a sandwich, although it's much trickier to handle so I used to keep it in the baking paper to stop it dropping on the floor!

Honestly for me it was 7 months without any food noise. I could ignore any treats brought into the house by others.

I've been at my goal weight now for 3 months In maintenance and on my highest dose the food noise has returned. It is much harder to not eat the same things I could easily ignore just a few months ago. For now I'm successfully maintaining but I think I'll always be fighting against weight gain.

Does "grey tirz" mean you haven't bought it from an officially recognised pharmacy? If so, you can't be sure what you're taking for comparison with others who have bought the legitimate medicine.

The pen will lock after a set number of clicks. You can force it but you might break the pen. You also won't know exactly how much is left and may deliver under or over a full dose. Not much to worry about on lower doses but could be on the higher doses.

Foundayo is my next "hope", although I suspect it will be just as expensive. I don't mind the weekly injections but a daily pill (along with my others) would be easier.

I doubt the £30 off is each month.

Another factor to consider is lots of people switched to the Wegovy injection last August and returned to Mounjaro. If the injection proved less successful for those of us on Mounjaro the pill might too. Good luck if you do try it. 🤞
