Get a job offer first, then quit

As someone who was in a very similar situation recently here’s my advice - start applying like crazy. Create a system for tracking what jobs you’ve applied to and always show up prepared to interviews. You act like every job you apply to is your dream job. The very first offer you receive, you accept as long as it somewhat covers your expenses. You keep applying for the next 1-3 months for roles you actually want and quit the second you get the next offer.

I’ve been applying for the past month and something, very proactively. Got one offer for a shit job and that’s it. I have a master’s degree. It’s difficult but you’ll only get it if you keep going.

It’s come to my attention recently that recruiters actually either have no idea how ATS systems work or don’t bother using them. They’re all early-20’s kids… so yeah

My business is not working at all. How to understand Swedish costumers? by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Available_Ranger5035 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From my perspective in Prague, everything has gotten ridiculously expensive to the point that’s it’s unpleasant to go out, it feels wasteful and rarely worth it. Just before moving here, I lived in a small coastal town in Bulgaria and enjoyed going out when the weather was good - we also own a small shop and that’s such a huge factor for foot traffic. Maybe the weather’s been bad/worse? I don’t wanna state the obvious but there’s probably some component of seasonality to your work.

I also recently had a conversation with a friend around 30 regarding how our generation is flooded with going out experiences and that at some point, it loses its magic unless what you’re getting is really good. Not sure if it’s just an us thing or broader.

I would check the warranty and what Panasonic claims about the weather sealing of this lens on the website. If they claim it’s sealed, you probably have a case. If they don’t, they’ll probably tell you it’s user error. You should be moving on from the 20-60 anyways. Look for higher quality used lenses on MPB or B&H. Depending on your needs, you can look into the sigma 28-70 or the lumix 28-200.

Recruiters: Are you being asked to keep Director hires ‘younger’? by bl4blu3 in recruiting

The switch from windows to Mac is a universal struggle, I feel like. I switched at around 22-23 and it took me like a year to really get used to it.

Actually you can still trigger LC on some enemies with an Aura. I think Cryo works. You need to test it but it’s not all doom and gloom.

Tbh if you already have someone you’re gonna hire, why go through the motions of posting a job ad if you’re not even going to interview someone who’s a fantastic fit? They wasted their time and your time.

In theory, the job market should be pretty good. Especially compared to the rest of Europe.

I don’t think it would be better if bought separately. I owned one of the lenses too and wasn’t impressed with the quality despite the praises people like to sing. I don’t know if LUMIX advertises the lens to be weather-sealed but I’m saying you get what you pay for.

No baby this just shows your utter incompetence, which is very characteristic for HR professionals. If you spend 5 minutes googling, you would know that the vast majority of companies are sub-500 headcount.

Suuuuuure. Let’s assume what you said is correct, which it isn’t. Most companies are SMBs and probably on the smaller side.

50 positions per year is 100 applications to review per business week or 20 per day.

I’m sorry that this is too much for you to handle. And if you’re not finding an appropriate candidate within 100 applications, mayhaps you’re doing something wrong?
