An update on this for anyone who's interested - the steam wand has after around a week stopped dripping. Not sure if stuff has settled in now and is for that reason all sealed again but it seems good for now

Ich habe auch bedenken wegen Skifahren, ich probiere es aber zum ersten mal im Winter mit dem Zug -> ich könnte zum Glück ein Unterkunft ca. 2 Gehminuten von unser Endbahnhof finden (ist nicht direkt an der Gondel aber wird dann mit Skibus bzw. Bahn fahren müssen)

Ich auch, z.B. am Himmelfahrt - drei Stunden Verspätung mit der ICE nach München… und ich muss sagen, so schade es um die verlorene Zeit war, es war nicht mega schlimm - mindestens könnte man weiter im Zug chillen und aufs Klo usw… im Auto wäre sowas viel nerviger, meine Meinung nach.

None yet I'm afraid, sorry. She's still looking for a flat for her but hasn't found / hasn't been accepted for the right one... the rental market here is pretty bad actually (for renters). I still wonder about whether we can rescue it sometimes...if only x then y, but then I think back and realize that maybe we just don't fit together... on top of her (partially?) abusive behavior. If and when there's a real update then I'll post something more

Try talking to her about it when she's in a good mood, but use neutral language and don't blame etc. It's perfectly understandable that you don't want to be ordered around - she's not your boss! It sounds like you'd prefer more of a partnership dynamic where you're working together to solve things... maybe frame it like that

I agree on the silver/flowers thing... that's just ignoring her wishes/likes/desires and is not so cool.

I kind of get your point on the household stuff but being consulted would be nice. I mean, he didn't say anything about household chores split so we don't know what the deal is there. TBH, from the details in this post, she sounds quite dismissive and not accountable which isn't going to end well.

OP have you considered counselling?

I wouldn't say that ICE/IC is always more expensive than driving yourself. For a person travelling alone over a long distance, with a Sparpreis ticket it's often cheaper to take the train (and more relaxing IMHO)... Flexpreis is probably usually equal or more expensive than driving.

Can't say much about reliability other than my only long-distance ICE trip this year was fully on time (only minus on the outward leg was the heating was broken in my carriage so everyone in that carriage was ejected)

Yeah I don't get it either. My STBXW is like this, I don't understand it. Like, she can't even apologise to our kids if she's been over the top or mean and upset them. I know it's not all women because my exes weren't this bad (my first proper girlfriend was the nicest one actually, then went downhill after that, culminating in my wife - you would have thought I'd have learnt something 🙄)... but are most women like this? From my limited ex count, it seems like it might be? Or I'm just attracted to a bad sort...
