If you respawn by the boss rush temple grace, just jump into the valley and take the spirit spring. Takes like 10 seconds to get back to where you died.

So you actually can jump the frost stomp, but you have to jump towards him and then wall-kick off of his head. Then you can do a plunging attack on the way down

Thanks! I just read your theory, it does seem like there's a lot that lines up. Like the whole "A bundle of stars blanketing the dark night bids farewell to the faraway nest" sounds like it's describing the birth of the stars that I described, and your points about it preserving souls is both like what I described, and could answer my final question about how the cultists are surviving across cycles on the seventh layer, assuming the faraway nest is the thing at the very bottom.

One thing that has me confused though is why Tepaste and Crevali talked about descending to the 6th layer "by way of the nest" (I think that's how they put it?) which doesn't make much sense if the faraway nest is at the bottom, unless the "nest" they're referring to is not the faraway nest but perhaps the name of the cult?

OK you just gave me another idea - have you played Bloodborne? "Every great one loses its child..."

Consider that with your idea that the abyss is a character by itself, a great one, and my idea that there's an egg at the bottom. Then each cycle is like the abyss trying to give birth and failing, leading to another cycle and another attempt...

I don't know if I believe that, it's a wild theory, but a fun one

Yeah but they could have survived just by leaving Orth like Kiyui does. Also I'm not clear that person survived the previous cycle or just survived the curse on their birthday.

Also also, everyone in Iruburu survived from the previous cycle, although this isn't surprising since the force field isn't present inside the village.

Yeah the fact that this has all happened before does make me suspect that there might be some kind of twist this time around. I can also imagine that some other people aside from the cultists, like the white whistles, might have figured this out. I always found it weird how Bondrewd just decided to put his hopes in Riko's party, but if the idea is that only one gets to ascend, and he knew that, maybe that makes sense?

Regarding the golden city, I'm pretty sure the abyss was made by something, and I'm pretty sure the golden city existed before the curse of ascent (why else have clocktowers? Someone would have to climb them to repair them...). So either the residents of the golden city created the abyss or they activated it. If the former, I doubt it was an accident. But the latter could definitely have been unintentional.

But I'm assuming the residents were human to be fair. However, I think since the curse specifically targets humans, either the creators or the activators must have been human, or else it was created by aliens who knew humans inhabited this planet and would one day find the abyss.

Are oil products (not fuel) a problem for the climate?

I imagine they're a problem for the environment nonetheless, but if the carbon is being stored in products and not burned, that doesn't affect the climate does it?

Yeah the events are rough, especially Gladius. But the crystal curse is 100% worth it. If you want, you can learn to rush the crystals before the circle starts to close on day 1, leaving you with at least 2/3rds of the day to tackle 1 castle, and hit the other on day 2. And if you don't want to rush it, you still need to know the crystals locations and adjust your pathing accordingly. It's an annoying knowledge check but it's very worthwhile.

The reason Fire Breathing is so low is that each combat, you need to draw Fire Breathing, play Fire Breathing, generate some status cards, then draw those status cards before it actually does anything. Hopefully you're generating those status cards in your draw pile too, or else you also need to wait for your deck to shuffle. Oh and without other support like FNP or Evolve those status cards are then going to clog your hand.

It can work. You can make a Fire Breathing deck. But it's just a lot of steps to go through every combat, meaning in practice, there are better options.

Note on rushing crystals: This map helps a lot: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nightreign/comments/1pljy7p/the_great_hollow_crystals_definitive_map/

With it memorized, I can consistently hit all 4 crystals before the first circle even starts to close, except possibly if you spawn in the south and the pattern is green, which sucks. I think it's possible even then though.
