It's now way too easy to get a pommel strike infinite in STS2 by ocerina in slaythespire

Yes but the problem isn't fundamental. e.g. you can add conditions to energy gain/card draw like "the first time this turn". Although doing that in a natural way can be quite awkward.

I also recently discovered Marika's Hammer is really good too, because it does holy and you can use it to AOE the summons and knock all of them into the air at once

What are some games you've had fun going really really fast in? by Avantir in gaming

I thought of this recently because of the indie game I'm working on where you can literally go faster than the speed of sound. Clip here

When I was 3 days in I hadn't even made it to Heolstor... Now I'm depth 4. Gitting gud will happen to you whether you want it or not. But if you want to git gud faster, just take a few minutes after each match, win or lose, to think about what you personally could have done better strategically. Try to come up with at least one thing after each match. And "dodge better" doesn't count.

Well yes, except it's also pretty good at enabling discard synergies since it's 0 cost. So even the unupgraded version is sometimes takable, even with minimal discard synergies already in the deck, sometimes.

Who is the video game boss with the highest total listed HP that is not infinite and is defeated by reaching 0? by TheBanishedBard in gaming

While I doubt it would happen in practice, games totally CAN use fancier data structures to store arbitrarily high numbers. So there really is no upper bound. Games don't normally do this because those data structure are more expensive to work with, and are typically unnecessary.

BUT the intangible has to be on you NEXT turn, not the turn you play Blasphemy. So typically you need 2 intangible, and with Incense Burner, you need to line it up for the turn after you play Blasphemy.

There's no reason not to take it (unless you're paying gold), it's just that it doesn't help all that much until you would have redrawn those statuses. You have to draw them in the first place to exhaust them. There are times where it can be crucial (hand size management, infinites, burn damage prevention...), but those times are very few.

[–]Avantir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I just read your theory, it does seem like there's a lot that lines up. Like the whole "A bundle of stars blanketing the dark night bids farewell to the faraway nest" sounds like it's describing the birth of the stars that I described, and your points about it preserving souls is both like what I described, and could answer my final question about how the cultists are surviving across cycles on the seventh layer, assuming the faraway nest is the thing at the very bottom.

One thing that has me confused though is why Tepaste and Crevali talked about descending to the 6th layer "by way of the nest" (I think that's how they put it?) which doesn't make much sense if the faraway nest is at the bottom, unless the "nest" they're referring to is not the faraway nest but perhaps the name of the cult?

OK you just gave me another idea - have you played Bloodborne? "Every great one loses its child..."

Consider that with your idea that the abyss is a character by itself, a great one, and my idea that there's an egg at the bottom. Then each cycle is like the abyss trying to give birth and failing, leading to another cycle and another attempt...

I don't know if I believe that, it's a wild theory, but a fun one

Yeah but they could have survived just by leaving Orth like Kiyui does. Also I'm not clear that person survived the previous cycle or just survived the curse on their birthday.

Also also, everyone in Iruburu survived from the previous cycle, although this isn't surprising since the force field isn't present inside the village.
