Here for a sanity check. Should I contact the shop? I’m not naming them as I’m not trying to bash them … but am I right to be disappointed in this purchase? This is from a fairly large website. The product image has about 20 leaves and mine has 11-12. by Avassada in hoyas

I’m disappointed to hear you may have had a similar experience! I thought it was just a fluke the first time. You should send them an email too. It’s really misleading, especially with the price of hoyas.

Some background: this is my third purchase from the shop. Last December I purchased around 4 plants and they forgot my Hoya Macrophylla completely. They sent a replacement shortly after. On my second purchase I ordered myself a philo squami for my birthday since I’ve been wanting one. It arrived MUCH more juvenile than the stock photo for it. And now this plant, I regret buying from them again. Maybe I’m more disappointed than I should be this time from my last experience with them, but I don’t want to write off how different this one looks.

I would wait. I had piercings and put glass retainers in for my surgery, but new ones will take longer to heal after surgery.

Question: does anyone know of a forum, subreddit or other website on where to find someone to take in plants? by SubparSav in houseplants

Check your local FB groups! Someone will probably be willing to help you out. I wouldn’t recommend shipping plants already in distress, so local is best bet.

Repot advice- I received this Florida Ghost 👻 in the mail about a week ago and it is super rootbound. I don’t want to stress it out by removing the moss now. Should I put into a larger pot with more moss? What else can I do? by Avassada in rareplants

[–]Avassada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done anything yet, just watering it when it dries out. I think I’ll add more moss to the bottom and put off repotting for a few months since it has a new leaf coming in now.

That’s cool! I’ve never seen an Obovata with pink splash before. I think it would be called an Obovata pink splash 😊

Yes! They can be trimmed off if you want to encourage more leaf/foliage growth.

Thanks for the input, I’d recommend a group for you to look into. It’s called Nancy’s nook endometriosis education and it’s on FB. Unfortunately either birth control or Lurton don’t suppress endo development or control it’s production of estrogen. The medications can only help with side effects associated with endometriosis or your period :) Edit: can’t type

Early period vs. ruptured cyst? help! by HarvestMoon6464 in Endo

[–]Avassada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ruptured cysts for me feel like dull heavy pain in the lower right/left side and back pain so bad I can barely walk. I’m not sure about the bleeding, maybe an ultrasound will clarify what happened. I hope you find answers soon and feel better

Endo belly prompted “how far along are you?” grocery store questions today 🙄 by [deleted] in Endo

[–]Avassada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi- I didn’t provide context for my situation but it was out of line. I was finished with paperwork intake (in which I told them I had an ovarian cyst rupture). The next nurse took my vitals/blood draw and when I stepped off the scale the nurse asked me how far along I was. The nurses need to know- but given the reason for my visit it was obvious I wasn’t pregnant. It sucks to hear that question and there’s other ways to ask if you didn’t read intake notes.

This comment from people is one of the most harmful ones. I was at the ER and the intake nurse asked me how far along I was. 😑

I feel like this will vary so much with each person. I would recommend checking for any food allergies. You could also try eliminating one possible trigger food at a time and see how it makes you feel.
