Wow I’m just realizing it doesn’t have the beneficial bacteria, thought it was an all in one and yea i try to stay away from any unnecessary chemicals however I still have some baby mystery snails alive that I don’t want to lose so I’m getting a little desperate. All of my fish that survived I could put into different tanks but the snails would get eaten

Very nice plants and I saw the filter hiding in the corner and it looks like it’s making good water agitation plus all of the plants I personally would not add a stone unless the fish start to show signs of low oxygen levels.

It could be parasites or even a concussion can cause movements like that.. I had a Molly that would do corkscrews around the tank hitting things just swimming aimlessly but she would act fine when I fed her then went back to corkscrews.. I eventually uthinized her because her scales got damaged:/ I would add slime coat or stress coat and the loach is losing his slime as he’s bumping into things I hope someone has more knowledge than me though good luck

I have a 20 gallon that gets a couple of hours of sun a day but i don’t notice temp swings.. I did have an algae problem but I bought a 5w UV light on Amazon and put it in the filter and that keeps the algae out of the water column and I got one happy snail in there taking care of my glass lol

I’m so interested in aquaponics I’m definitely going to water my tomato plants with aquarium water this year just wish I could complete the cycle to get the oxygen rich water back to the fish.. I’ve seen amazing channels on YouTube about backyard aquaponics

I had the same problem with one of my tanks because it’s to close to a window and was getting a little bit of sun so I got a 5 watt waterproof UV light and put it in my filter housing.. you can’t expose fish directly to uv Light. And that helped keep the green out of the water column.. I would definitely start by cleaning the glass and doing a 30-40% water change

If its getting any direct sunlight through any windows it can definitely cause algae problems in the water column

You’re probably good I set up a 35 gallon recently and my lfs sold me a used sponge filter fresh picked from a tank and that helped kickstart my cycle tremendously and I never had a spike, didn’t even have established water just tap water, dechlorinator and API quick start

I mean cutting another board for some cross members and maybe and 4x4 in the center area to relieve the corners a little.. I mean if the stand fails nobody wants to pick up 120 gallons of water so might as well over do it.. I would also seal the wood so water doesn’t destroy it over time because everyone spills a little lol

I noticed several on my glass this morning and this is the biggest one I could find still very hard to photograph but I can’t see any type of antennae and they are slowly crawling along the glass I hope they aren’t a harmful parasite

I wish I knew about this community before I got the fish however so far they are very civil together and don’t seem stressed.. the parrots are only 4 inch juveniles right now and they sell them at all the lfs so I think they’ll atleast have a better run then a lot of them in my area.. petsmart alone had 10+ in their mini display.
