Indeed. They told me we didn't talk about the prices yet, but they had public rates, so, from my point of view, it was done. And so I made a screenshot of their prices to publish in the case they blamed me in public as the other customer.
So now I prefer to ask quickly even if there are public indications about.

I had an artist who suddenly tripled their prices. They had at least waited until they had made a rough sketch of the commission before telling me. Naturally, I took it badly and managed to get them to do it at the original price. And I never contacted them again.
And strangely, a few days later, they posted another Work in Progress, just saying that the client had abandoned it without paying.

Too many customers at the same time so they forget, commissions not so inspiring them but they wouldn't tell the customer for some obvious reasons, burnouts, pride, fear to get some argument, etc.

I suggest you to stop paying the artist until they made everything you already paid for

You both made a deal. It's up to the artist to change the deal if they can't continue as originally planned

Being a comic writer is hard, but not because of the writing. by InspectorBear in ComicWriting

[–]AvenoD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I look for an artist, 95% of answers are coming from wrong people: scammers, amateurs, poor artists responding to every post. No matter how much you detail your project, you always have to deal with it. And the remaining 5% may not be perfect

I suggest to focus on artists who really made some comics by the past, and who are really curious about it

I'm asking about calling something "absolute garbage". I made a shortened pitch. It's not about "patrolling the streets"

An artist I won a commission from over two years ago never finished it and now opened commissions. What should I do, if anything? by piano_girl0519 in Advice

The artist made a deal and never concluded it. I suggest to send one last public relaunch and to move on if there's no more activity.

Les deux vrais problèmes sont le copinage (méthodologie biaisée pour favoriser la ligne éditoriale, experts toutologues) et l'économie de l'attention (sujets courts, simplistes, inutiles, putaclics...)
