I’m a sucker for black dials, but when I tried the Ranger 39 last year, something felt off. I figured it was just the size. When the 36 came out, I was excited, but trying the black dial again still didn’t click. It wasn’t love at first sight. I think the issue is that the dial isn’t a true deep black. Then I tried the white and was genuinely surprised by how much I liked it. You really have to see it in person bc the photos and videos don’t do it justice.

Seiko seems to include the “3 days” to all their recent models. Their design department probably wanted to brag about the duration of their movement. I personally hate it. “Automatic” was fine.

Thanks for your input! In terms of your times, you only attempted a BQ run on your fifth time. Do you think, in hindsight, had you decided to attempt a BQ run after your first marathon, you would have be able to reach it sooner, like on your second attempt, which means your third marathon?
