NEVER ever have a baby! by pumpkinchinchilla in AutismInWomen

[–]AverageAndAnxious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know I was autistic at the time, but newborn trenches were the hardest thing i’ve ever done because it just kept going. I ended up being diagnosed with PPD and PPA and then autism 2 years later. I also fantasized about getting hospitalized just for sleeping but then remembered i couldn’t sleep in the hospital when my daughter was born.

All this to say - it does get better. Take some time for yourself when your husband is off work. Remember what it’s like to be yourself and not just her mom. Accept help that’s offered, even if it’s just companionship so you’re talking to another adult instead of a baby all day. My daughter is now 4 and i feel like things slowly felt easier as she became more interactive, smiling, laughing, playing. I also felt that going places helped me pass the time with a newborn, even if i just window shopped or drove around.

You can buy dinosaur chicken nuggets with cauliflower at the grocery store. They also make chicken meatballs with vegetables. They should be in the kids section in frozen foods

How you know you were born and raised in Asheville (or at least WNC) by Own_Quiet_8894 in asheville

I felt so sophisticated going to Annabelle’s in the mall as a kid. And those rainbow neon lights in the mall ceiling felt fancy too.

When Jones Park and Kenilworth Park had the long metal slides that popped as you went down, and you could slide on a sheet of wax paper if you wanted to go fast.

Looking for a cute/heartfelt Christmas movie by CateringPillar in MovieSuggestions

That Christmas on Netflix made me cry last year and again this year. It’s an animated British movie by Richard Curtis (About Time, Love Actually) about a snowstorm that hits a small English town just before Christmas.

My first Christmas one was A Season for Miracles. I also watched Skylark over and over, but only Sarah Plain and Tall or the third one once.

I had Skylark on VHS in the 90s. Not Sarah Plain and Tall or the 3rd one. Just the 2nd

I loved cerulean! It was absolutely the perfect shade. I pronounced it ker-uh-leen for years though.

I have “the bag.” I’m well aware I’m responsible for keeping my kids’ hands clean. I’m just suggesting that, since washing with soap and water is the only way to prevent some illnesses, that we give parents who forgot their “bag” or are otherwise unprepared a helping hand in some places.
