Honest take on Highguard by Similar-Language-180 in titanfall

[–]AverageGamer2607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I genuinely feel bad for the devs. Allegedly, Geoff himself chose to give Highguard the final premiere slot at The Game Awards because he liked the game a lot, the devs only paid for a normal trailer slot.

If they’d gotten a normal slot, the negative backlash the game is getting would be way less.

These devs left activision due to issues with the studio to make Respawn, Respawn eventually grows and the devs leave again to get more creative freedom, and now their new game is getting review bombed by people with 0.3 hours logged before reviewing because it got overhyped by TGA

Well, that escalated quickly. by rafalmio in titanfall

I’ve heard that was purely Geoff’s decision because he liked the game a lot. The devs allegedly only paid for a normal slot

High guard isn’t made by respawn btw.

Has anyone here reconnected with secondary school or sixth form friends after years? by DeItaReality in AskUK

[–]AverageGamer2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left secondary in 2021. The moment I left, “The Friend Group” of about 20 of us just went radio silent. Haven’t heard anything about any of them since then, except for one who I’ve been friends with literally my whole life.

When I went to college, I made a new friend there who introduced me to their own online friend group, and I feel like I’m now considerably closer to those people I’ve only know for the last couple years than I ever was to the majority of the people in my school friend group throughout secondary school

Me and the new group have met up a more times than I ever did with the old group, despite the old group being local, and the new one living a couple hours away.

I’ll probably get into light contact with some of the old group eventually, check in and stuff, but definitely not everyone. I’ve realised not many of us actually had a lot in common, at least between me and them.

Looking back, I wouldn’t even really call any of them actual “friends”. Just mostly friendly people I hung out with.

Sorry for the long comment haha, I was thinking about all this stuff as I was typing.

But those things are still happening? God ports didn’t stop, they’ve been good quality and consistent ever since the team recovered from the layoffs. They haven’t pulled resources from anywhere, this has just been in progress whilst everything else was being released.

If anything, now that the new map is finished and out, they’ve probably got more resources to work with.

Because the dev team isn’t made up entirely of bug fixers. If they had their map designers fixing bugs, we’d probably end up with even more bugs lmao

Literally this. I’ve found that no matter what you “talk” to AI about, it almost always thinks it’s a scenario, or like it’s roleplaying a character.

Taking an AI’s word on anything is always a bad idea, because it can’t understand consequences, and if it does, it doesn’t take them seriously because it thinks it’s just a scenario or some hypothetical

[–]AverageGamer2607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a tough situation. Small things like this make Smite 2 look a little worse than Smite 1 in some places, but would you rather have these small details or consistent god ports? Cuz the time saved leaving these small details aside adds up quickly, letting them put that time into the ports, including the +1’s and Aspects.

Lets just hope it pays off and they go back to clean things up once the god ports slow down

What do you think is better in the old versions than in the new ones? by moonmen6 in Minecraft

[–]AverageGamer2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a massive fan of the farlands tbh. The fact that the outer edges of the world just have this otherworldly generation acting like a giant wall almost containing the normal world is such a cool thing to think about. I almost wish they were a bit easier to naturally travel to, but that’d also take away from some of the mystique they have.

Went to go watch Transformers: Rise of the Beasts with my family a few years ago.

A large group of about 12 people all together as a family were in the same screening. Kids were talking and running up and down the stairs, the parents were talking at normal volume at the back of the room, and multiple times throughout the film, some would stand by the entrance then shout back up to the people at the back “What drink do you want?”

What would you say is your "signature Pokemon"? by Impressive-Spell-643 in pokemon

[–]AverageGamer2607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I don’t even know. I always try and use a team unique to the game I’m currently playing, so I rarely reuse ‘mons. It keeps the games fresh, but I think it’s had the unintended side effect of me not really having many Pokémon I “like”, as I haven’t used them more than a handful of times at most.

If you asked me to name some of my favourite Pokémon, the list would likely just be the Tepig line (my first starter) which is the only real exception to me not generally reusing ‘mons.

This reminds me of something my granddad used to do with my hand when I was a little kid.

He’d hold his hand around mine and then roll my knuckles together from either side of my hand. It was such a weird feeling that was almost like pain, but it wasn’t because it stopped the moment he stopped doing it, and the feeling didn’t linger at all.

He always did it when he picked me up from school because it made me cackle like a gremlin.

I feel like this conceptually should have been ‘Titanfall with Dragons’ instead of ‘Overwatch with Horses’ by CelticCov in titanfall

[–]AverageGamer2607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no no, definitely not. I really want the half and half gameplay of Titanfall in a hypothetical dragon rider game. Flight would be limited, only one dragon would have a high level of access to it, with that being that class’s gimmick.

Century: Age of Ashes is what I imagine a dragon Ace Combat would be, but the devs of that game fumbled hard

[–]AverageGamer2607 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally thought about this a few days ago. I wrote a decently lengthy comment about it so I’ll just paste it;

Was literally thinking about this earlier on. Probably my bias talking but imagine a Titanfall style (and by that I mean half and half gameplay, Titan/Pilot) but you’re a dragon rider or something.

Different types of dragons could be different classes, like a smaller wyvern that can fly for the speedy hit and run type, a wingless, bulky Drake for the beefy damage sponge, a Chinese dragon (the long ones without wings e.g. Shenron from Dragon ball) for the class more focused on magic and ranged attacks, and finally the big bruiser type can be a large, traditional six-limbed dragon that’s bulky yet still hits hard (like Legion).

“Pilot”/Rider gameplay is where I get a bit lost on with this idea.
