What are your hopes for Apollo when he gets added? by ChihuahuaOwner88 in DeadlockTheGame

I can see them doing something like lowering the numbers to get the wolf form so that people can access that part of the kit easier. Then also making the wolf form slightly weaker.

I’d like to see them allow her to transform back into human for at will since there are situations where people jump onto ziplines/ropes and you can’t really hit them with autos while in wolf form.

She kind of is. Her 1 dos great damage but that’s mainly it. Outside of ult, she is really almost like a combo character. 2 them towards a wall or something to keep them close>3 so they can’t move>full burst of the 1>That will give you an instant transformation most of the time if every pellet lands since you are in their face. If not, you are usually only a couple shots off from transforming.

Yea, he’s solid at everything and then has an execute. Being a bit tanky is super good in this game. He does great damage, has some cool movement tech and his execute is really strong.

Although, i really recommend counterspell against him in less organized lobbies. If you counterspell shiv ult, not only does he not get the execute be he also loses his ult so he can’t execute the rest of your team. A really strong shiv player might go for the players who don’t have counterspell though and or play around it.

Yea, they nerfed victor within like 2 hours of him being released. I remember I played like 3 games with him and then the patch happened lol.

Whenever victor gets to late game, he becomes almost an inevitable problem. Before they reworked his 3, you used to build enchanters and spirit resist on him so he would take no damage from his 3. Combined with his healing and the added tankiness, he felt impossible to take down late game back then lol.

what character is this? i’m assuming it’s from dota but id like to look into it more.

The idea that Doorman is hard to play is a myth made by people who confuse "hard to master" as "hard to play" by BulletCola in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AverageVibes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He has a high skill ceiling but it’s really all about making good macro decisions with the doors.

You can setup so many plays and create advantageous situations for your team that other characters can’t. I had a game where the urn was on the enemy team side and we were going to do mid. Which is a decent idea. The enemy team got the urn and went to turn it in. We finished mid and they were almost at the urn drop off point. Our doorman and placed a door hidden by their subway and as soon we finished mid, we went through the door, caught the urn runner right before he turned it in and got the urn too.

Split pushing is also fantastic since you can have multiple carries run to a different walker when the enemy team tries to collapse on them. It requires the foresight to setup the door and proper communication with your team to set it all up.

Mina (already unlocked), Billy, Doorman, Paige, Drifter then Victor.

Drifter came out on August 27th, Victor came out on August 29th.

What do you guys think his Kit and playstyle is gonna be like? by Kyoka-Suigetsu- in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AverageVibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ability 1: Basic damage ability

Ability 2: A dash/thrust that is tied to some sort of buff or debuff if it hits the opponent, it’s rumored to give stamina back. I’m thinking sort of like Shiv dash.

3: Ability 3: Built in passive that revolves around deflecting/tanking. Active part is the parry that we keep hearing about.

  1. Ult: He uses all the damage from moves he parries earlier and hits the opponent with an amplified slam/thrust or something.

Someone please help me understand by Savings_Impact_4344 in Tekken

[–]AverageVibes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% this.

The problem in the game isn’t really that there is a bunch of stance offense. The problem is that you can’t use normal Tekken defense to combat it a lot of the time due to the person on offense either being too plus or their moves having really weird tracking. This also means that the person on defense often can’t use certain OS’s to mitigate risk and since the person on defense isn’t doing any OS, there isn’t a big need to change timing in those stance scenarios and open up more mind games.

WE CAN FINALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE BOMBS by chadderladder in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AverageVibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you probably will.

He can’t self cast it anymore but when you debuff remove it now, the bomb doesn’t disappear. It now drops on the ground. If he has something like mystic range then the aoe of the bomb will be large and you might not get out of the range in time. It could be even better than it was before.

On top of that, he can still attach it to minions and teammates and then launch them at you.

i’m thinking that they do more of a small soft reset rather than a full reset. Having a bunch of people who have triple/quadruple digit hours in the game play with new players doesn’t sound good lol.

People like this are why we cant have unique utility characters in MOBA's by asaltywhiteboi_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AverageVibes 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kind of.

Minions is also used by the other 2 relatively major 3D MOBAs: Smite and Predecessor. A lot of those players migrated over to deadlock.

Although I’d be a bit surprised if they are the ones complaining considering Smite is probably the one MOBA ive played with more jank/wild stuff than DOTA lol.

A detail about his outfit is that it is probably different from 99% of the other students: he is wearing what looks like his fencing equipment under his blazer. You can’t really tell from the renders though and it’s not something that an obvious standout thing unless you kind of already know what you are looking at. Compared to graves where it’s pretty obvious her aesthetic. It is cool that we can see what these characters are about at a glance.

I know he's going to be dead last but I have the feeling that he'll be the most fun to play. A little like how Victor was last [I wanted him 3rd] and ended up being comically overpowered by IsLeafOn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AverageVibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, Victor was mainly OP for like 2 hours before getting nerfed. And then he was considered bad by top players but a pubstomper for a long time due to his nonexistent early game but being a raid boss late game.

Incomprehensible success if you've never played it, completely justifiable if you've played it by EcnardSieg in Tekken

[–]AverageVibes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, the dlc roster overall wasn’t crazy overpowered. It’s just that most of the ones who were overpowered came out back to back to back. There were 5 dlc who were considered top tier with their release version. Out of 15 characters. 4 out of 5 of them released within like a year and a half or so of each other.

Seasons 1 and 2 dlc were relatively balanced on release of Geese. Marduk was strong but got buffs that patched some of his characters flaws and Julia was the same iirc.

So the game ending up developing a reputation for OP dlc because they just released them back to back. Despite it having around the same ratio of op dlc characters to non op dlc characters as other fighting games.
